Okay - I'll bite :D

What is so good about the AA reverb then?

(it's one of the few that I've not run the demo of)

- the most expensive software I ever bought was Sonar 2XL for 229€ (and the update to v4 for the same amount of money...)
hey jens, thanks for the compliment.
but don`t take my last post too serious, i was just kidding, not meant as an offend :)

find it out! :)
explore!
www.artsacoustic.com
there are mp3 demos on the site, and a demoversion.
the only limitation is that you cannot save and the sound drops off for a short perod.
tweak it a lot.
i`m not saying this to educate you, but our reverb behaves a little different.
so,to find out what that means i strongly suggest everyone to read the manual while tweaking.
hope you like it!

I certainly checked it out - I check out most VST reverb demos. My impression is that this is very flexible, and has an impressive range of presets. But basically the overall 'flavour' didn't grab me for some reason.

I have many reverbs where I like the sound, but they aren't flexible.

I have many reverbs that are very flexible, but the sound leaves me cold.

The thing I like about AAR is that I have extreme flexibility with a very nice GUI, together with a sound quality that is right up there with the best of them.

It can't absolutely clone every possible reverb, but I do think it is possible to use this as your only reverb in a pro mix.

now that YOU are right at hand: Would you mind to share some of your presets?

beyond the AU version/bug-fixing, will AAR be "enhanced" further? Is something like a 1.5 planned? If yes, are you entitled to comment on some of the additional features?

Hi LiteOn - sorry to disappoint, but i'm not a 'preset' sort of person. I'm seriously lazy about saving any presets for anything, except the odd synth patch. AAR comes with a good set of presets if you want them, and they give you an idea of what can be done. But for me, I like to tweak the reverb for rythmnic effect. And that means what I like change with a different tempo and groove. For example: snare verb. You could adjust the pre-delay so it matches a 16th or 8th note. Or, I really like using inverse reverbs - where it ramps upwards to maybe an 8th note or even longer, and then dies away. Very 'ear-catching', and apart from expensive hardware, I don't see this offered in many VST reverbs. I just fiddle around until I hear something I like, and generally just let Cubase SX save the parameters in the project. So I haven't made any presets for myself, and wouldn't use them anyway.

I have to add my nod of appreciation to greendoors, the best reverb is here! Here, I say!

No worry, no dissapointment over here. ;-)
Basically I'm also lazy about saving presets. But changed my mind completely the last days. I wanted to assemble a bank of patches for Virsyn's TERA. Unfortunately I couldn't remember for which songs I had created what patches. Well, it was pain ( and time consuming) having to run through all Cubase projects.

I know, I know. It's only because I sometimes suspect I'm missing some great tweaking trick...

Onerr DR-1 Digital Reverb:

The Onerr DR-1 Digital Reverb offers a 24 bit effect reverb processor with outstanding quality similar to that of expensive rackmounts, in a single and robust pedal format.

The "Program" rotary selector knob gives you possibility of choosing among 8 presets of reverb and 2 presets of chorus. The MIX knob gives you the control to accurately adjust the mix of the direct signal with the effected signal.

Also, the DR-1 presets can be switched by using an external footswitch (not included) plugged into the CTL input.

The DR-1 is also furnished with two outputs (1-Mono 2-Stereo), where by using two amplifiers you will get a fantastic surround effect.

its AMAZING

Nice verb - just checked it out - Just wouldn't pay the $145 for it.

My personal favorites:
1. Waves' Trueverb - clean and gives subtle life to the track - doesn't stick out harsh to me.

2. UAD-1's Dreamverb - to my "noobie" ears this is the best I've heard - would love to have it - just can't cough up the money for it now.

Later
