noob question. triangle 2 and tracktion 2

Hi all.
i've just recorded a part on tracktion 2 using triangle 2. for some reason no matter what preset i select it always defaults back to preset 80 when i have recorded. even if i keep changing it back it returns to this preset at the beginning of the track. I am sure i am not doing something really basic but haven't got a clue what? can anyone help?
