That's not a newsletter link - please do not go through contact us unless there is a reason for doing so

Thanks everyone who posted comments about the Music Box, it was a lot of fun to make, and I agree with the poster who said it is such a simple instrument but adds so much to a track... I felt the same way, and couldn't believe the lack of authentic samples available. So I nabbed this one from my mom for the weekend and sampled it.

Thanks again everyone and enjoy.

Theo rocks. I must add this. Very inspiring stuff and his demos are probably what "put me over the edge" to order along with how just darn cool Frank and Alan are...

...but not necessarily in that order...

...but darn well could be.

I quite like the presentation, part of the charm. I think the music box is a good idea and unique to catch the imagination – the scoring noise would have benefited from shorter ‘clips’ rather than how it was when I last looked. In other words you could have reduced your file size quite a bit by removing elements of ambiance, I think the ambiance could be contained in a short sample and the other noises easier to find – but – the other aspect is listening to it in its own right to ‘discover’ the sounds – sort of an individual ‘atmosphere’ you have captured – so – scoring noise too is cool. :)

A-WE-SOME!

FINALLY THE MUSIC BOX AGAIN! And I thought I have it as hack, but it's available once again. Folks... if you ever look for a dark sounding (and by that I mean "good sounding", not bright) musicbox - get this pack. YOu won't regret it.

Never heard a better soundfont.

EDIT:
Then again... oh well... links are down. Course the bumps from like... 1 year ago.
