Mine came today. And I'd just like to say .... holy crap. Great sounds and a superb interface. It's going to take days to go through this and weeks to learn how to get the best out of it.
Make a big band version and you can have my soul.

I can do a big band like you wouldn't believe. I even have samples of the actual ride cymbal used on Brubeck's Take Five. Joe Morello's. Plus, Danny Gottlieb let me sample cymbals from Mel Lois and a we did a bunch of Big Band/Swing rhythms... Miroslav sampled a bunch of jazz instruments (you know Danny Gottlieb has even played with Miroslav... small jazzy world). So, if you want jazz well... we may just have something up our sleeve!
In the meantime you can actually do some great jazz stuff WITH Philharmonik too.

Squids,
My esoundz says awaiting stock - any idea when these may get turned around?
Reading this thread is killing me.

Free delivery reached Kansas yesterday.
My time was such that I could only install and play for a few minutes, but this windcontroller player saw "BC" patches that respond to breath control. Thank you very much.

You're welcome. We might do some freebie patches for the strings to respond to BC as well. For the release we did the logical brass and woodwinds with BC patches. We weren't going to (because had thousands of patches already) but then I said "naw, let's do it!". So, there they are! Enjoy.Chip wrote:Free delivery reached Kansas yesterday.

So it's at the post office but they said it was to big to deliver. The PO closes at 3:00; work finishes at 4:30...
I'll have to go at lunch 2moro... guess I'll just starve as it will take my whole hour to and fro.
Food vs. Philharmonik... We know the outcome.

Got mine now. No time to type. Internet bad, Philharmonik good.

I've made a peculiar observation and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this. Working in Sonar 4PE, I'll open an instance of Philhamonik and load instruments, and maybe open other VSTs to fill out my instrumentation on a project. If I leave the project open for a while (not sure how long, but say 45 minutes to an hour) or it sits idle for a while - when I access the instance of Philharmonik it won't respond to any clicking I do on the interface. I can't change instruments or tweak knobs. The loaded instruments will still play, but I can't make any changes and have to close the instance and open a new one and reload my instruments (or load a combi that I've previously saved). The other VSTs don't behave in this fashion. Just wondering if anyone else has had this happen. Might this be a (dare I say it?) dongle issue?
It doesn't, however, deter from the immense pleasure I'm deriving from just sitting and playing these wonderful sounds. The box arrived the same day as I was meeting with a client (a singer) for whom I am doing arrangements and tracks on her latest CD. I played her some of the sounds and she was thrilled to think that this was the "band" that would be accompanying her!

I wonder how many votes we get on that one. We might be persuaded if there is enough interest. I personally would like it (perhaps a good enough reason on its own to do it...) but if there is a demand for it then that is an extra kick. I imagine everything from big band to modern jazz (metheny-like) and also good for Acid-jazz and some funky dance styles that are jazz influenced.aldred wrote:You know it must be doneSquids wrote:So, if you want jazz well... we may just have something up our sleeve!![]()
I may do an actual session with Joe as well. He's the drummer on Take 5. He's Danny's mentor and Danny says he plays brushes like no other human on the planet. Danny himself is incredible. Wait until you hear the grooves we did with him. Holy #$#($*!!!!! Hey, that's coming out soon btw. This is one of the projects up our sleeve. I hope you guys have saved up good.

This is definitely on my radar screen - hope I can see a way to get this one. Joe Morello and Danny Gottlieb! Wow!I may do an actual session with Joe as well. He's the drummer on Take 5. I've been having something similar happen in Sonar 3 and Project 5 v.2. After having Philharmonik open for a while, when I go to click on the UI to load a new sound, the UI will freeze and I'll get an error message saying an exception has occurred. I then have to shut the host down and reload everything.loogoo wrote:I've made a peculiar observation and I'm wondering if anyone else has run into this. Unfortunately this is not unique. I've also been having problems in Sonar and Project 5 with other VST's such as Kubik and ChineeKong, though the main problem I'm having with those VST's is sluggishness.
