Why can't EXT handle ANY audio without crackling?

this is kind of insane ... i can fully reproduce that .aldi wrote:hi jorgen. can it be, that the routine that checks for where the mouse is pushed can be optimized ? seems like everyting stops in that moment the mouse is pushed down. and does ext redraws the whole screen, when moving around stuff (clips, audioparts, smples, plugins) or drawing the selection rectangle ? seems like sonar or logic just redraws whats needed (the more is moved the higher the cpu usage)
just one mouse click sometimes can bring cpu to 100% .
especially in processing hungry projects .
(btw. independant from if the test asio driver is used or not)

Hmmmmm!
Got a better performance here too!
Now I can play my troubled project without glitches. CPU is still a bit on the high side, but I guess I just have to get rid of a few FX.
Cool work dude!

the performance with the native Echod-rivers is now better than with the asio4all-drivers...

In these exciting times for us Echo users (
) can someone (Jorgen?) maybe confirm what performance settings in energyxt.ini are still relevant?
Is suspendtime completely obsolete?
There are some others mentioned in Darkstar's guide like:
gui=gdi|dib
aalines=0|1
menuopaque=0-127
partdetail=0-127
Those can help with performance but they're more obvious and also in many ways down to personal preference I suppose. I'm nervous to keep some previous "tweaks" that might end up being detrimental when deep issues with asio.dll are knocked on the head.
Are there others specific to tackling the audio engine's performance I've missed ot forgotten?
