Wow, what a bank. Musical, beautiful and useable - what more can we ask for?

Please, please get Mr Hobson to make more!

Using Angelina 1.2 (registered), I get a "This bank contains presets for a different VST instrument" when I try to load it. All other Angelina banks from the Big Tick site wrk fine.

Post

Hmm, that's ultra-weird. Try to remove everything under the following registry key:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VST\VSTPlugins

I'm using SONAR/DirectiXer (latest versions). DirectiXer reports the fxb as being for Angelina but it won't load.

Post

Well, can you check it with another host to see if the problem comes from Angelina or from DirectiXer ? You can use psycle, it's free....

Yeah, that happens here too using DirectiXer 2.3. This doesn't happen if you load the bank using Angelina's built in bank loader though. If you then resave the bank via DirectiXer's bank dialog, loading the bank via DirectiXer works fine. Odd that. Works fine in other hosts though - tested Logic 5.5, Fruityloops 3.56.

Post

I'll give that a whirl then. I just hit the DirectiXer's fxb load by habit.

Sounds like a little directixer quirk to me... It's probably worth signaling that to directixer's developers.

Not really! I've tried to use the bank with your latest demo-version under Cubase VST 5 and it showed the same problem! So it seems to be a more severe problem - I couldn't load the bank neither using Cubase's loader nor using Angelina's own loader :(

Post

The FXB file contains correct plugin identifier, 'ANGE', but the version field is 2, while the plugin itself reports version 1. DirectiXer refuses to load a bank file created with a higher version into a lower version of a plugin. This is by design.

Thanks for the info kkm,
it's an easy fix.... except that the API with which the host is querying the current version is not documented (or at least, I couldn't find it). Do you know how the host asks the plugin for its version ?
