-FreeVerb Too
this one is good for its many features (you can pan, freeze, choose the quality, damp, modify the decay...)

-MagalovReverb1.1
I have never hard about it ? where to find it ?

_ AMbience is quite old now, but you can choose the quality, and it has a whole bunch of usefiul options (the sound is quite metallic, but if you like it, that's good).

If you don't use it as a tool, but try to get realistic spaces, have a look at Silverspike RoomMachine, it's free and dos the job, imo.

MagalovReverb was a GUIless VST I was working on some time ago, I kind of got stuck designing the GUI(displaying parameters etc..) and wasn't sure how to improve the sound, then got distracted with other things..

I'm pleasantly surprised it got a mention here! :)

It's available at the auditorium..

Here's the initial version I had with a GUI..

Be careful with low absorption settings, it's still a beta..

I'm currently redesigning it as a synthmaker module (just as fast, 100x easier to develop..)

adydub wrote:Just had a look - only $49 for the sonitus verb, so my credit card was twitching - but no. No direct download available for EU customers. Edirol UK do the complete bundle, which I know has a good reputation. But I don't need the rest.

Sometimes manufacturers don't make it easy for thier customers!

Any other thoughts?
You could buy the express version of FL studio for 50$ and get the basic version and possibly the full (as "anticipated" by Smart) and then use the vst version or rewire it into your host and get a very big bonus(the sequencer itself) :)

Great advice from everyone, thanks lots!

I've dl'd a few of the suggested freebies and Silverspike's RoomMachine seems to do the trick. I'm rather enjoying it with Kontakt2's VSL and piano libraries. Puts sounds in a space without sounding nasty and artificial and the CPU hit's not bad.

I'm loving Seus Hawkins' workaround for getting the sonitus, but I'd need to use the verb as a VST plugin in Live5 - not sure if the FL plugs are locked to the host? I don't need FLS 'cos I'm using Live. If I was still using cubase as my host then it would have been a lot more tempting.

OT: Going back to Cubase and Logic after Live is like wading through mud or something. Still fine for postproduction, but totally uncreative and uninspiring environments to get stuff going in.

Live already has a very good reverb, but maybe not for you if you want real spaces emulations..
I have tried MagalovReverb, and it was a nice plugin, it worths some little improvement (cpu optimisation in hifi maybe ?!), but it can fit in everybody's vst needs, imo.
I like the tweakability of the cpu consumption changing the character of the reverb a lot. you can go from wide spaces to cheap spring-like echovrebs...
It coudl be really nice to work a little to make those changes more obvious (I'm thinking of the lo-fi presets : there are not so many reverb or dlays with some kind of a bitredux on it (except audiodamage timefunk) to reach cheap vintage digital stuff, and one of the mode could be closer to a spring reverb or a space echo to reach more analogue-like sounds...(maybe using some king of "boingy" resonance ? ) ;
I'm interested in following the devlopment of that plugin, and would be glad to see it on Kvr soon !

Wave Art's Masterverb is the lowest cpu with nice sound/control.

Sonic Flavours R66 is totally diferent and kick arse too.

Hi Sam,

I just checked your MagalovReverb. It's really cool. I like the smoothness that can be achieved. The shape knob is great! Very cool. I like that absorb approach, better than reverb time IMO.
Thanx a lot for giving me this cool reverb.

All the best, FRitz

Stop it! It's been less than a week since the previous "best reverb" thread. Give it a rest. :x

Ah, but has it been more than three threads that someone complains about someone else starting the same thread that's been started 5 million other times? ;)

Oh really?

Then the fact that I have a life outside of KvR must be the reason that I missed so many of these "best reverb" threads. I'm really grateful that I discovered MagRev through this thread. Did you try it?

Relax, FRitz :wink:

Hola peeps

@sinkmusic
I have tried MagalovReverb, and it was a nice plugin, it worths some little improvement (cpu optimisation in hifi maybe ?!)
I'm afraid it's not getting any quicker :( .. Everytime I try to optimize it myself I get beaten by my compiler, I've tried complete restructuring of the main algo, whatever I do it allways comes out the same speed..
I like the tweakability of the cpu consumption changing the character of the reverb a lot. you can go from wide spaces to cheap spring-like echovrebs...
This wasn't indended at all, it was just a happy accident.. When developing I included the control to change the complexity to decide what level I wanted, I just decided to keep it as a control..
I'm interested in following the devlopment of that plugin, and would be glad to see it on Kvr soon !
As I mentioned earlier, I'm working on a Synthmaker version of the VST, it uses exacly the same algo's and has the same speed, but the front end is going to be much more intuitive.. I may try/include some lo-fi processing and see how it sounds.. thanks for the advice..

@Fritz
Really glad you like it! Shouldn't be too long till I've finished the SM version

I'll keep y'all posted

Proof that you can never have too many threads about reverb! Thanks to this thread I've just discovered Magalov reverb, and it's a keeper. Sam - thank you for this, and I hope you keep up the development. I love the Super setting, which puts the CPU load into overdrive, but the sound quality is up there with the best commercial stuff.

Nothing particularly insightful to add, but still seems worthwhile saying how much I like Magalov. Thanks sambean, great stuff.

No, it just means that you don't know how to use the forum search properly.

Yeah, I tried it... it sucks ass.

Sorry for upseting you by asking my question dude. I thought KVR was a forum for discussing VST plugins or something.
