ha, boobyblank! hehe, i can't seem to think of a funny thing to call you, rob.
maybe it'll come to me later.
yeah, nobody has to post anything. right.
by the way, that Foghat cover you do with all those GM sounds is really entertaining.
thanks for sharing, friend.

ttoz your one of the few here who speaks from his heart. You speak what your feeling and I think more folks here learn from that more than they are willing to admit.
So you change your mind while hunting for toys/tools- so do we all. You feel you made a mistake on a purchase you say so and why. Most here only seem able to be willing to validate their choice (good or bad) for fear of looking stupid - hell we are all stupid - and no one gets better info. Thats why I come here, for info.
So ttoz dont let them bug you. You want to gloat gloat away bro and the hell with the arses !
And all this post your music crap...man get a life...your picking on a guy when most of the tripe we all hear in the marketplace was produced with hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of gear-studio etc. so grow up and stop picking on ttoz when he's happy ! You all never learned how to be nice people ?

I actually think msp5s sound better than the 10s. My mixes that sound so so on 5s, sound really awfull on 10s. Could be the 10s are closer to realityttoz wrote:Ta. yeah, I seem to feel msp5's are the powered replacement of ns10'ssoulata wrote:msp5s are lovely, aren't they?ttoz wrote:and what one EARTH are you talking about a "special" $20,000+ setup? Hey Theo.....you got loads of PC s/w going cheap now that you've finally decided to stay on a Mac?
And whoever it was who posted that nonsense about posting his music...why on earth should he. Does nobody around here simply make their music for the simple pleasure it brings to themselves? I never post any music either. I can't be arsed getting myself a website even, so I have nowhere to post it. I really don't give a toss what anyone out there thinks of my music. In fact I'm so unbothered about it that nobody out there gets to hear it, because I don't make my music for anyone else but me any longer. Is that a problem? Is it a race and I just didn't realise it? Can music only be considered good if a third person experiences it? Does music make the sound of one hand clapping in a wood with nobody in it?

and why do think I'm attacking you? geez.
thanks for the compliment!

no problem, warp. it takes real talent and vision to what you're doing. those harmonies are tight and inventive! clever stuff, try to remember to PM me when you post more.
kritikon, there's no reason to give up sharing your music with others. at most, sharing your work with peers and enjoying theirs can be inspiring, motivating, and educative. at it's least, one's music can be far more truthful and sincere than one's posts. most times you can learn alot more about where a musician is coming from by listening to one song than by reading a thousand posts. i understand that some people don't see it that way. it's none of my business, it's a plugin site, go somewhere else. but kvr is also a music community. that's keeps me coming back here on my coffee breaks. excuse me for asking to hear music when words turn into nonsensical superlatives. ttoz doesn't want to post tunes, i know; he's a sensitive guy. and he should be. when people aren't coddling him, they're throttling him. but heaven forbid anyone should call anyone else out. i call shenanigans.
Can music only be considered good if a third person experiences it? not if you really enjoyed sharing it with the second person, friend.
phz- yes. slow ride. loved it.

2 important things worth reiterating:
1. There are many people on here with MUCH more gear than ttoz. There are folks in these parts with sick amounts of gear and synths. Heck, some of them even have their own studios, which isn't cheap either, even if it's not a keyboard you can plonk away on.
2. Some of us (me!) have far more posts and far less output. I get hung up on drum parts (or lack thereof) and therefore give up on projects at a 10:1 kept to abandoned ratio. I COULD just do acoustic tunes I guess, and there's nothing wrong with that, but I LIKE my songs to have drums.
Does the fact that I suck at drum programming or the fact that I have a couple thousand posts in LESS than 4 years invalidate my opinions or worth in this community? Is it "evidence" that I MUST not be a real (or at least a good) musician? I suppose to some, it may... but those people are turds.
John Kennedy Toole only ever published one book, but you'd be hard pressed to say that his writing sucks.

1]sure. i've seen these things you call studios. studerneveapisidecar. people here may own them. if i hear them talk enough about them, I'll be intrigued enough to ask where I can find their music as well. is that in itself rude?
2]don't recall that i ever said that posting music makes you 'real' musician, or those who don't post aren't. don't feel that way. music is information/communication. pure and uncut.
straight from the source, unfettered by stance or bias. that's how i know your buddy multree, lunch money[his squirrel song is the cat's ass!];i only know you through your offerings of betabugs vst's. but i still hear your vst's when i see your posts, so even when you call me a turd
i still have a warm fuzzy feeling. it's a beautiful life, innit?

scratching my head at that onemusic is information/communication. pure and uncut..

Greg, I gotta a question for yah...
When you get hung up, how often is it because it doesn't sound right to you? Now that seema basic, but let me expand. I have thrown awayt hings because I thinks it's corny, or it just doesn't sit with me right. Other times I'll be listening to music I like with a strange transition, or something similar to what I have booted songs because of and I realize there are a lot of songs out there I love, that if I had of done I would of been too critical of myself to allow...does that make sense? ...
