8-bit waveshaper

.. shift-clicking on shaper resets the shaper.

Thre are so many bitreducer on the place... !
but i'll of course will try this one !
8bit is nice, making freeware plugin is very nice and kind too.

But i'm dsperatly looking for a GOOD 12 bit plugin, to make everything sounds like my Akai s20 was sounding.
Something you don't tweak that much, without many knobs or drastic effects, but adding that particular warm, punchy, early digital sound...

pleeeeaaase, could somebody do that ???

(it is lik for the ms20 filter... thre are pletny of "analog filters", but nothing sounding like the korg's one !)

its not intended to be a bit-reducer, its just a 128-point graph, and the 32-bit input gets mapped to this graph with no interpolation. So I suppose technically its 7-bits..

Someone said they wanted a turbosynthesque waveshaper so I was going by recollection.

We might make an enhanced 32-bit version.

Ah darn, I had just made a 9-bit waveshaper that's almost identical. Oh well, it needed the Pluggo runtime anyway.

I left my sequencer idle for about 10 minutes and my left self-powered monitor started getting grumpy.....

but otherwise...

maybe I should make an optional 20hz hipass

well, I can't think of a moog-sounding one, but there's a plugin which allows you to reduce the samplerate and bit-depth step-by-step, maybe this would do the trick for you. Of course i can't remember it's name and I'm not at home right now, but drop me an e-mail if you're interested to find out about it!

in fact theres a bunch of bit reducer VST's that can do 12-bits, but the SP-1200 is a lot more than just 12-bit, there's been some threads here at KVR on the subject.

In fact my first-ever C++ vst does bit reduction, though I never did proper parameter value labels.

for a bad emulation of this put the sliders (left to right) at 50%, 5%, 0%, 100%.
