Yes, one of the Trash preamp models is a Big Muff Pi. I'm not sure what it's called but they use it in some of the presets. I'm at work so I can't check, but look for some presets, either default or from the Trash cookbook for guitar, where they use a play on the word Pi, like "Piece of Pi" or some such. Start with those presets and try tweaking them.rpc9943 wrote:is there a big muff model in trash?

This brings up a point I was thinking about: I haven't read the manual for Trash, but I'm wondering if there's anywhere where you can get info on what these models were taken from, since many if not most of them have names that don't necessarily give you much clue of what they're supposed to be, particularly the box models.

also you have to layer a LOT..those tracks would have tons of guitars at once to form a huge harmonized wall.
But yeah, The Marshall w/ the Gain trick and the Big Muff, plus tons of layers will get you this sound.

I have read a different interview talking about a JCM800 combo + bigmuff for the saturation.
bill corgan said that for the clean sound he used the low impedance input instead of the high impedance one with preamp knob set to full (no saturation at all).
and control the volume with the master knob. (knobs are swapped compared to your interview)
I have a JCM800 and a big muff at home and it works very well.
however reproducing it without the amp is will only be an approximation since the low impedance trick changes the functionning point of the electronic components of the chain.
the most noticeable effect being a loss in the high frequencies.
