I have to do some midi files in cubase and when i export the midi it just wont have the midi instruments i selected, its always standart piano. it tried so much stuff already and i did read the manual again but that didnt help..

Make sure you set the midi instruments using the bank and patch numbers in the inspector instead of the VSTi based patch selector. Did you do that?

The inspector ? what and where is that ? I did manage to install a gm device and then finally have patch names for midi instruments but that did no good.

ImageThe thing on the left with the single slider at the bottom. When you select a midi track which is assigned to a midi output (or anything but a VSTi basically) you see 'Prg' and 'Bank' fields containing patch and bank numbers.
Is the type of midi file you're exporting to supporting patch/bank numbers? I'm not entirely sure, but it might be that one of the types doesn't actually save program/bank, if thats the case, however, it should be mentioned in the selection window where you chose which midi file type to export to.

Yes things were set up right in the inspector, but not in the export settings, i experimented a bit and it worked now, totally awesome now i can finally work with a satisfying midi sequencer, thanks alot !
