Audition isn't After Effects ... sadly ...

Audiomulch can certainly create whole pieces but it's not like a 'normal' sequencer, it doesn't have the now standard arrange window. It's much more appropriate for experimental pieces than piecing together orchestral scores.
I think Traction could still be a good choice, you can drop filters (vst effects) directly onto clips so you can radically alter one chunk of audio on a track without effecting the others. Everything automatable too (though you'll have problems if you subsequently move your audio around as the automation doesn't go with it, you have to manually cut and paste the automation curves).

The thing I don't like with Tracktion is the missing "automate all
VST parameter button", that exisits in Vegas for example. Creating
20 automation curves is no fun

Well, if by score you mean something in MIDI, then no.rs_ml wrote:Is Audiomulch cabable of handling a complete score? I thought it's
just for generating an effects setup?
Thanks, RS
You come a long way by sequencing parameters and presets though.
The way I use After Effects and AudioMulch are similar in that you can line up clips of audio in 'Mulch, sequence playback, and the "composit" them by sending them through various effects- the native ones like RingAM, various granular effects, FrequencyShifter &c., and/or through a network of VSTs.

it does have midi too...birrbits wrote:Audition is certainly not leaps and bounds ahead of its predecessor Cool Edit. But I agree, that thankfully the UI is much the same. I hope that with the next release Adobe pull thier head out and at the very least provide VST automation beyond wet/dry levels.
With that said, Audition is still the most powerful audio editor I've encountered...

Acid.
Really. I scored a few awtsy fawtsy videos a couple of months ago in Acid 4.0 and it was painless. If all you wanna do is synch up some layered wavefile mangling to video, it's the way to go. Dunno if the price point is gonna satisfy your professional requirements though...maybe you could spring for a new soundcard or some really expensive patchcords to make it up.
