What happened to the thread where someone installing Miroslav had the auths on their Cubase dongle?

:?

It was called "I'm very Angry at IK" or something like that.

I'm checking back to see if there is any resolution or advice, and it's just gone.

No sir,

it's not. If it would be the same thread it would have changed it's name at least 2 times during the last 24 hours and several posts would have been deleted, including mine from yesterday. So at it's best it's a heavily moderated version of the thread that it was yesterday. Anyway, it's not cool which of both ways it really is. :(

Yes, it has been editied. but it's still the same thread

Post

There WERE two versions of this thread existing at the same time, I'm pretty sure, because I remember someone saying "you should post this in Sonic Reality", which he then did also.

Well, it may be the same guy with the same problem, but it's not the same *thread*. I don't monitor that particular forum so it was definitely here.

I can see locking a thread if things get rude, but this had some potentially important information, pertinent to this company's products.

Not cool...

The original thread was cross-posted and was an initial scream of frustration because of a problem caused by installing incorrectly. This was resolved in both posts. The pertinent information exists in that thread and the only moderation I can see is that Cane looks like he has adjusted the title after he got things up and running again.

The thread does have some very important information in it about installing Philharmonik on a computer where another iKey exists so it is quite relevant to have a link to it in this thread now that it exists, but there is no difference in resolution to the problem.

The only difference was probably the nature of the insults and retorts - which really isn't relevant information anyway in this company forum, but probably exists quite happily in a general forum.

The important information is........

Please remove any hardware dongle-type, iKey whatevers from your system before installing Philharmonik.

Please remove any hardware dongle-type, iKey whatevers from your system before installing Philharmonik.

The on screen instructions actually say this, but sometimes we gloss over these so again.....

Please remove any hardware dongle-type, iKey whatevers from your system before installing Philharmonik.

If Cane had jumped into this thread by now I'm sure he would be saying the same thing I bet because I've noticed his advice now in a couple of other threads.

Another side bit of information which really is quite important for IK's sake is that the installation will not actually delete the licence information on an existing key if inserted during the installation. However, it will certainly give you grief so please.....

...remove any hardware dongle-type, iKey whatevers from your system before installing Philharmonik.

The instructions supplied may be too complex.

The important information to me was the loud revelation that Philharmonik uses a dongle, and that its installer is capable of doing damage.

That influenced my buying decision. It gave me buyers' remorse on some things I've purchased recently, and it pretty much closed the door for my interest in anything else from that company.

With all due respect james - the fact that it used a hardware key is not difficult to find in this forum as it's been discussed a million times.

I think people usually check the copy protection system before buying anyway don't they?

And yes, the important information leads to the fairly important discovery you make if you don't read the important information - one follows from the other.

I find that I have got into trouble before with installations when I have not followed the instructions, particularly when there is a documented commonality between two products that exist on my system which requires a particular procedure during installation. In this case, the commonality is the copy protection system which is probably where the sore point is more than anything else and I can even understand why.

Feel free to rant about that, but I think in this forum we have already been given the warning that such endless rants are not welcome here.

In which case, the thread in the Instruments forum remains available to continue that discussion, because if you continue it here then the thread is likely to be moderated in some way and people may miss the very important message.............

Please remove any hardware dongle-type, iKey whatevers from your system before installing Philharmonik.

Hello Caleb,

this gives me 2 options:

1. You didn't see my post that was deleted. Fine. I don't know if you're a moderator here or work for IK/Sonic or HAVE to be informed in any other way about what's going on here but for me personally that's fine when you missed that bit o info.

2. You tell me that I did lie about my post having been deleted.

You know what? I vote for option 1. I wish it is so. :)

And I want to make 2 things clear again:

I made a post and it was deleted. Besides of giving room to my bad feelings about Jasons style as a moderator I asked a normal question of a potential customer: Does Amplitube2 come with a dongle.

I don't want to let go the information unheard that you HAVE to remove EVERY dongle from your computer during the installation of Philharmonik. Did I understand that right? Just in case someone gives it to me for free and I wouldn't resist to install it anyway ...

Have a nice day, FRitz

Jason isn't the moderator of this forum, I am. I deleted the entire thread which was repeated on KVR and more appropriately not in the SONIC REALITY FORUM. Sonic Reality is the sound developer. I have explained a lot why we can't have our name attached to a thread like that which is bashing the companies we work with. But, if one reads the company forum rules we apologize in advance for having to do that in order to keep this forum around... delicate balance of what we justify providing a platform for! Hard to explain though. Sorry if your post got deleted in the thread. It looked practically the same. But, that other thread is not touched by us (it is not in our company forum). I think the original poster had solved his problem and maybe felt bad and changed the title. But, he had no access to your post to change it. I doubt a moderator of that forum would do anything unless it got even more out of hand.

I think there is a lot of confusion going on. Probably because I am helpful and tell you guys stuff about IK products because we work closely together and also there is esoundz customers here but at least with regard to this forum, it is NOT an IK forum you know!

Anyway, as far as AmpliTube 2 coming with a key, I am not sure. Won't know until IK announces that information officially.
