Just played around a little with Philharmonik, and have a question regarding the strings.

Both Viola and Violin, solo and ensemble has some sort of noise, playing in the higher pitchrange (Violin C5->, Viola even at lower pitch)

It's quite loud. Should it be that way? Or is it something I'm as an user, should tweak ?

It's my first "symphonic" software, so I'm not really sure of what to expect, but to me it sounds pretty awful (the actual strings ar super, but the noise.....)

This is the sound of the "rosin" of string players and is present in all string recordings (even the ones you listen to in symphonic music recordings). It actually has a nice air to it in context of musical arrangements, even though it may be odd to someone hearing it for the first time. In products where you may not hear this aspect of the sound the strings may have been specially treated to get rid of it but often that makes the strings sound less real and too sterile. This is more a "true to life" sound of the orchestra with all of its idiosyncracies as well as things like true spacial acoustic positioning and more.

Thanks Squids,

I figured it was something like that, but I thought it was somewhat to loud compared to the actual string sound, at higher pitch.
But as you wrote, together with other instruments in an arrangement,it's not standing out.

Been playing some more, and have to say, Philharmonik sounds overall absolutely fantastic  .
