Now that I think about it...

As some of you may already know (at least) Vurt and myself are on the Mature Student kick - at different Uni's in different countries I might add...

So I gots (I know - its an english degree Im doing :hihi: ) to thinking about these educational discounts some companies offer...

Anyone sort me out with more info??? I read somewhere that Cycling 74 offer a discount to college students - any more? What should I be on the lookout for?

Thanks folks,
Dave

NI do them as well, most of their products cost 149 euros with the educational discount.

I'm still enrolled in the continuing education program at the School of Hard Knocks. But the faculty there take a dim view of discounts and shortcuts. :)
perception: the stuff reality is made of.

Wow!!!

Thanks folks - get my student card on the 12th (my BDay on the 24th) so I could be having a look at Operator or Guitar Rig if they are cheap...

Usually the educational licences are for full time music students only.

Also, MS student licences e.g. become void after your student years IIRC.

Oh, and: good luck, have fun with the girls ;)

depends who the company are ... ableton were really good to me ... i got educational discount on the back of teaching a little bit of media studies which has an optional (and not necessarily practical either) pop music element ...

Short version of a loooonnnggg story -

Theres a Music Tech course in my home town Uni offered as a PostGrad... in 2 years its going UnderGrad. This way I get back into education - see if I can hack it (check out the girls) and jump on the Music Tech in 3 years instead of 4... with a degree in New Media & English instead of pissing about for 2 more years waiting for it to be offered as Undergrad - Phew!!!

Its confusing as fcuk but Ive had 30 years to straighten it out

So technically its leading to a Music Tech Masters... think that will cut it with soft companies??? I could perhaps ask the head of Music Tech to vouch for me - he is a cool dude. Tried his best to get me past admissions WITHOUT a primary degree!!!

Again thanks folks - I'll perhaps mail NI soon and ask - had my eye on guitar rig for ages anyway... and cptgone - those young ones wont know what hit 'em...

:hihi:

HI

White Noise, Wave Arts and DB Audio (-50%-50%-30%)also do them - the order I named them also reflects the ease (or difficulty) in getting it!!!

The % are the discounts offered to me, by the respective companies.

Flipper.

Cool!!!

Got in on the White Noise GB but I tried a demo of Waves TrackPlug - makes vocals sweet :hihi:

Thank you.
