HI
I have been dragging and dropping a bunch of very long audio files (4-5min)into LIVE5 some are OK but others seem to loose their timing (slightly)- is there anything in particular I should be doing (I am new to Live).
Thanks.
Porpoise.

HI
What is your problem?
I have been looking at the manual and could not find anything to suggest I was doing something wrong.
I could go back and spend a week reading it but isn't the point of a forum to get access to experienced user support?
I normally come here under a different 'tag' and have been doing so for 2 years and have 2,000+ post's - I don't need stupid responses to a genuine request for help/advice.
If you don't like my question - fair enough: but why not go else where with your unhelpfull remark?

check out the abe's forums - there are a few topics on warping strategies.

So are you trying to warp 'em or just play 'em straight?

HI
I am trying to play them straight - no warp involved, that's why it seems strange - who mentioned warp?
I am simply dropping the audio file in Live from XT at the EXACT same tempo - some files are OK, others are shorter than they should be - in XT they appear OK.

You may have autowarp turned on - it's in the preferences somewhere - if that's the case with long files the autowarp doesn't always do a perfect job (it's better to manually warp them) & this may be messing the timing up.
edit: I believe it is turned on by default

HI
I will go and check it, I know when you drag and drop a file onto the gui (which is what I am doing) the individual file with have it's 'Warp' button alight - I have been turning these off individually as I load tracks.
Thanks.

Sorry about that. My evil twin must have gotten on the computer again. I'll make sure to have a word with him ASAP.porpoise wrote:HI
