I could level match them pretty quickly: it wouldn't be a "proper" mastering job, but it would avoid huge volume mis-matches..xRAVENx wrote:...xander wrote:I think we can acommodate at least 40 tracks of 3 to 3:50 tracks (double Cd to sell at half the price?)don't take me so seriously on that mastering offer then.

Man, I'm so glad that you guys started this. I'm in. I'm working on lyrics at the moment, but I'll have the whole thing done in a couple of days. I'm willing to try and help in other ways as well if I can. I already sent money, but it isnt much as I'm not very ell off myself. I feel a kindred to those hurricane victims because I've been there and lost everything too. Thanks for this guys.

I'd like some tips on what do do and where to improve this, but this is my song, originally intended for the moog theme (it might still be - with voting out I'm not worried about being DQed for airing it before submission), but Katrina relief is better than competing anyway.
Please help me weed out the problems in it, and I'll do a remake for the CD.

And here's the preliminary mix of what I'd like to contribute:
Epsilon In New Orleans Pale
Runs just over 4 minutes. The title could be changed, of course.
You know . . . Does anyone have access to recordings of sound from survivors of the disaster or environmental sounds from there? I could hear some of that in the background of this.

That's cool! Certainly necessary for sure.IIRs wrote:I could level match them pretty quickly: it wouldn't be a "proper" mastering job, but it would avoid huge volume mis-matches..xRAVENx wrote:...xander wrote:I think we can acommodate at least 40 tracks of 3 to 3:50 tracks (double Cd to sell at half the price?)don't take me so seriously on that mastering offer then.
Well, I said 40 tracks but we'll probably not have anywhere near that many, so I don't think it'll be a huge effort. But if it is, I'll do it.
Too bad we can't get a mastering house to pitch in. I'm sure there's a few blokes in here like TOTC that'd like to help.

Count me in. I don't have the time for a new track right now, but I have some finished and unreleased that I'll be glad to contribute with.
Eventually something intelligent will appear written here. Watch this space.

This was my Moog tribute of sorts (although there were no Moog sounds!):
Crestfallen
It was written about the feeling of losing someone special to you; that empty feeling that consumes you because they're gone and you know they're not coming back.
It's more of a link than a track, I can rework it however you like but if you wanted to use it for this project I would be - as they say where I come from - made up.
Cheers.
