My ignorance haunts me....

Hello everybody...brand new here and almost just as new to VSTI's.
I would like to give you a little lowdown on my
past, as it will help you all understand ME.

In the late 80's and early 90's I was very much
into synth and sequencers and drum machines...
had quite a little setup as well. I got rid of it
as I needed money due to a divorce...long story.

forward 15 years and I have discovered
VSTI's...much to my joy..I am in heaven..
and I am like a little kid in a candy store now with a glazed look in my eyes...and my wife can barely get me away from the computer....

Here's my problem...

I know NOTHING about effects VST's...how or what they are used for...I have D/Led them and tried to
load the .dll files in to my VST plugin folder..
and it gives me a message about something like
can't load effects in the same instance or something like that....

What am I doing wrong ? how are effects loaded and/or used ? and why would I need to use effects ?

ANY help or advice would be helpfull....and appreciated.

I use

effects are for processing audio ...

set up a vsti , as a channel insert ...
assign this channel to a mixer slot ...
insert an effect in the mixer slot ...

the audio from the vsti will be affected by the effect ...

i heartily recommend that you read the furnished materials in the FLS help file ...
