Hello, just wondering what the extent of compatibility between SAMPLETANK and SONIK SYNTH 2 was.
- Can SAMPLETANK use the entire SONIK SYNTH sound library and if so, is there any easy way to replace songs that Ive made using SONIK SYNTH?
Im wondering this because instead of opening two instances of VSTs, I can just do it with one instance of SAMPLETANK. My projects are getting too big and cluttered and in many cases I have Sampletank with 3 tracks playing and then Sonik Synth with 3-4 tracks playing so it would be ideal to have them just combined in one vst. Also...
- What would I be missing out on by using just SAMPLETANK? Does SONIK SYNTH have any extra functions or features that are not located in SAMPLETANK?
Any other issues I should know about? Thanks for the help.

Short answer: Sampletank loads them all, it can do all than SS2 can and more...

Kim (esoundz) wrote:You can load the entire Sonik Synth 2 library in Sampletank2. It's a common thing to do (I do it myself, actually). SampleTank2 does everything that Sonik Synth 2 does, so you don't lose any functionality. In fact, you gain some by going this route.

Also, is there a quick way to convert my instances of SS into ST? I guess Im asking if I can save a mix and open it in ST?

Yes. All you have to do is go into your SS2Presets folder (within the folder that has the SS2 app itself) and grab all of the subfolders of ".IKMP" (ik module preset) and copy/paste them into the STPresets folder. They'll work as long as ST2 is browsing to your SS2 sounds that are in the SS2Instruments folder (the .sti, sth, stw... files). You can load BOTH ST2 and SS2 sounds by putting the contents of your SS2Instruments folder (or the 8.5 gigs of sounds of SS2) into your ST2Instruments folder together with them.mmenta1 wrote:How about the SS COMBIS? Perhaps you can just save back a combi file (an IKMP) from Sonik Synth and then load that into ST2 to have the instance transfered.mmenta1 wrote:Also, is there a quick way to convert my instances of SS into ST? I guess Im asking if I can save a mix and open it in ST?

Squids... as always. Thank you for your help. The customer support drives the loyalty to IK out of me. LOOKING FORWARD to 2.1. Let the cat out the bag...Squids wrote:Yes.
