I've got it downloaded, and I used NERO v6.6
and burned it as IMAGE and had no problem.
I checked the rebirth download and it seems that it is shut down for now..as soon as I finish this message...
I will get on to yousendit.com and get that loaded and a link...so if there is anybody here that still hasn't got it, e-mail me at: prisonmoon@prisonmoon2002.com
and I will give you a link to download it...probably
first come first serve as I am not sure of the
bandwidth available..it's worth a try tho..the link will be good for 7 days...so theres time.

Do you change it to .nrg before you burn it to a disc, or can you do it after it was burned to a disk?aMUSEd wrote:Just note the comments about it being a Nero image - it doesn't seem to read as a true .iso for some reason. Rename it to .nrg and it should work - especially if you burn with Nero - it also seems to work fine with Alcohol 120% after renaming it this way too which can mount it to HD or burn it.riley4reason wrote:I have downloaded Rebirth twice now and when I try to make a CD I get a message saying that it is a "invalid disc image" has any else had this problem?

Allright, I, admit it. I'm dumbstruck.
I have everything downloaded, but I don't know how to burn it to CD. I have Nero. when I down load it and unpack it it gives another wimrar file caled "ReBirth_2.0.1_win-iso". What do I do at this point? Can someone give me an idiots guide walk through?

Or right click it and "open with..." & select Nero.
Thats what I had to do - hope this helps!

Nero Express 6 here (came with CD burner):
Open up Nero. Choose 'Disc Image or Saved Project' option ('what would you like to burn?'), then select Files of Type 'image files' or 'any files' to see the ISO and then open it and burn it.

btw, I'm not really bored of it
. Just it was an anticlimax after 3 days attempting to download it. However, I know from past experience Rebirth is a lot of fun and a nice alternative to the usual piano roll method of inputting sequences!

I burned it with cdburnerxp, but when I bring it to my laptop, easy cd creater tries to open it. It says file not valid iso...or whatever. I try to open it with cdburnerxp....still an error.
Tried changing the file name to end in .nrg....still no go...
VERY FRUSTRATING!!!
AND I DON'T HAVE NERO!!

Is there any way to do this without an iso image?

It seems that Nero doesn't have a free demo right now.MadPsyance wrote:Do you change it to .nrg before you burn it to a disc, or can you do it after it was burned to a disk?aMUSEd wrote:Just note the comments about it being a Nero image - it doesn't seem to read as a true .iso for some reason. I tried the the free CDXPburn and it gave command line errors.
At the rebirth museum it said they will be posting a new version soon because so many people had problems with this one.

I downloaded UltraISO (free) from download.comMadPsyance wrote:I burned it with cdburnerxp, but when I bring it to my laptop, easy cd creater tries to open it. It says file not valid iso...or whatever. I try to open it with cdburnerxp....still an error.

installed it.
Ran it
1.In the bottom pane, I selected the iso file. I then went to tools-->convert.
Selected convert to .nrg (nero file)
it makes a converted copy.
delete the original uncompressed iso file (make sure you keep the orig. zip though!)
Now you have an .nrg file which is similar to an .iso file.
2.again, go to tools-->convert. Now convert the .nrg file back to an iso file. The program converts it to a legit .iso file it or any burner can read.
3.Then go to tools-->burn cd image.
Select then *NEW* iso file and it should burn it to your cd!
worked for me, free, and once I figured it out, it only took 5min. I am now installing the prog as I type. Hope that helps.
..what goes around comes around..

Thanks ouroboros...but I realized that I must have had some version of nero already installed on my computer somehow.
When I brought it to my laptop it was a piece of cake to install.
This program is gonna take a while to get used to...

wonder if the offer for discounted Reason is still in effect if one were to buy rebirth at the moment? I've noticed eshops still selling it...
if so and one just wanted reason, they could buy rebirth at the cheapy price from one of these stores, then buy the upgrade @ the props shop and save a little over 100 dollars..

Hi Riley...
I too had alot of trouble. After like 20 hrs to download, I could not find a way to burn the iso, tried many things but this is what worked:
1) download MagicISO. get the free demo.
2) copy the the .iso file that is in the zip file to your hard drive.
3) using MagicISO open the .iso file
3) MagicISO will show the iso contents as if it were a disk.
4) Drag N Drop the directories from MAgicISO to a blank cdrom and make the volume label RB338V20 on the cd.. If you can't just drag to a blank cd then drag to a directory and use your cd burning software to write the files to cd.
Thats what I did and then installed and all works great.
