Sampling bass for Kontakt2, what rate should I use?

I'm planning to make devil fish bass patches for Kontakt 2.
It's gonna be 24 bit mono, but I'm not sure what sampling rate to use? (44.1 kHz, 48 kHz or 96 kHz)
What would YOU do?
sincerely
LarsErik

well, i wouldn't use any more than 44.1 , personally. you really won't hear a difference on an analogue synth, IMO. 24 bit is also questionable, since you are not dealing with any kind of dynamic range -the samples will simply be normalised.
24 bit will simply use up more memory and CPU, IMO. I use 24 bit for acoustic and atmospheric samples, but not synths, as a rule.
but, its up to you. sample at 24 and 16, and 44.1 and a higher one, and see if you hear a difference! if not, well -don't bother!

Ok, that makes sense. I do however hear difference between 16 and 24 bit on the samples I've made sofar.
But going between 44 to 96 kHz in 24 bit I can't hear any difference.
Thanks for your help.

you mean in terms of noise floor? that might make sense, yes..

It might be hallucinatory..
..but seriously I belive I can hear a difference when the samples are loaded into Kontakt2.
I guess I should do a blind-test right? (Like the pepsi challange.)
Sincerely
LarsErik

sure, but there's always that trade-off of CPU usage, memory, and whether the difference is actually big enough to make any difference when used in a mix... just my opinion, though!
