...Luxury Yacht'

:D on my way home tonight i was listening to my track on my mp3 player, having given it the obligatory few days rest, but iwas alarmed to hear i'd apparently sung 'moo-g' as opposed to 'mogue', despite careful self-tutelage against such an occurrence.

thanks to farlukar for the saving grace :)

My entry's posted. This should be a great month!

When I saw this month's theme, there was only one choice for me: the Wendy Carlos thing. Her Switched-On Brandenburgs are what got me interested in synthesizers and classical music. There's nothing really original here, I just tried to find a Bach piece that nobody's done before. Thank you Mr. Moog, thank you Ms. Carlos, and thank you J.S.

Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in A Minor, BWV 1041

Allegro assai

Violino concertato, Synth1
Violino I, Synth1
Violino II, Synth1
Viola, Triangle II
Continuo, Minimonsta and Pluck

(Kjaerhus Master Limiter and Auto-filter)

Should be interesting, I'll listen to it later. I love Carlos' music in Tron and A Clockwork Orange.

Fixed it. Thanks, Marc JX8P. Btw, is your tag a reference to Poe or Alan Parsons? Tales of Mystery and Imagination was another album I wore out!

Post

The last, actually. Although I did read some Poe, it was only after getting that APP classic. It kind of triggered my music interest, that and Jarre and Vangelis and Oldfield. Tales Of Mystery And Imagination is really an amazing piece of work (I love the Raven - the ultimate vocoder piece. And I always loved the quote. English has some word combinations that are really beautiful, another one I really love is 'to sleep, perchance to dream...'.

You(tm) . . . you bastard. That's an unstoppable song you've entered. Awesome. New standard and all those kinds of things. :tantrum:

But honestly, that's just freakin' awesome.

Way better than the original. I'd pretty much forgotten that song.

Just wait and see if you recognize the one I'm doing . . . yup, Emdot finally pulls out a cover this go 'round!

Thanks emdot. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I wouldn't say it was one of my favorite songs, but definitely from an important period in my life which is why I abandoned most of the intent of the original and personalized it with my own POV. In light of all the recent talk about cover songs, pirates, politics, the US gulf coast, Moogs and whatnot, I felt I had something to offer that nobody else would consider. Plus I've always thought banjos, synths, horns and maracas were made for each other. :hihi:

I agree with the sentiment. One really fine piece of music, George! I like a lot of what's been submitted so far, but this is a full notch or three above the rest.

Thanks much. I was very hesitant about posting it. I was afraid it was a little too quirky and aberrant to connect with anyone. Not sure how I feel about it myself. But then the tournament relaxed and I figured I didn't have to prove anything. Besides I'm starting to get busy at work again so I can't polish or rework it anymore.

That's pretty funny, 'cause I'm pretty darned sure this would be a competition winner if we were voting.

Hmm. Now I've got to get back to work on my own cover song.
