Jason I think this means a single user interface like Sonar Home Studio or Tracktion.

"NEW—Integrated inline audio and MIDI editing, arranging, and mixing all in one view"

Hopefully the Sonar home Studio tabbed views made it to Sonar 5 as well 8)

Cakewalk have always offered demo downloads as far as I know for all versions of Sonar (1-4). Sonar 5 should have a demo soon as well I would think.

I'm a Tracktion and ProTools guy, but I have to say, I'm EXTREMELY impressed at what Sonar has become. It has to be next in line for me and I would recommend it to anyone. I need cross platform, so at the time, it's not an option, and I'm happy with what I have, but still, VERY nice!

Ho-ly shit. As if Sonar 4 didn't kick enough ass.

I cannot wait!

Looking at this through my Theakston Old Peculier Strong Ale soaked eyes and it brings a big smile ...
I'll drink another bottle then...Cheers !!!!!
:D
Samplitude ideas I see there: clip based effects :) Very nice.... we'll see how it all hangs together.
Lets play !

Wow nice update, the track templates are much needed, as are some of the big workflow enhancements (track icons, the visual stuff). Also cool to see the Roland V-Voice thing, as I always wanted to play around with the vari-phrase stuff. How cool are the tempo syncable envelopes too (instant tremelo or autopan at the most basic level, then at more advanced settings it means every control in an effect or synth now has it's own LFO)? Plus the whole idea of the Bitbridge really makes the idea of upgraded to a Win64 system in the future a lot less scary. It's time to start saving...

I'm sorry this post wasn't about techno.

Did they at least change the stupid arrangement of arrow keys controlling widgets in the track pane as opposed to rewind and fast-forward ????
That's all I want.;-)
Still...a shockingly good update...
Lets play !

Never be too quick to bug shoot a piece of new updated software when there are others only to willing to do that for you. Saves the aggravation and all that, you know. :)

That said, I was "informed" that this version would impress "...even you" (me). :hihi:

We'll see about that...

And finally...NATIVE VST SUPPORT!!! No more wrappers!!! Midi outputting VSTi's working properly without the need for loopback devices or other workarounds!!!
