The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

i've got Qparts' chrome skull knobs on my black ibanez RG. they look great but the knobs are built like shit. they used really cheep cast metal and the skull is not solid, so the sleeve where the pot shaft mounts is very weak. you've got to be super carefull when tightening the set screw or else the pressure will crack the sleeve, making the overly expensive knob totally useless. and it takes very little pressure to break it.Hink wrote:
i busted one like that, and another one has a slight crack that i've been carefull to try to keep from getting any worse. in all my years of guitar work, i've never seen a knob so poorly constructed. (knbos are so simple, its kind of hard to botch the job.)
had they just make the knob solid, this wouldnt be an issue, but casting it the way they did probably saved them $0.0001 in crap metal.
that said, i got mine a few years ago so mabey they've improved their construction since then. they do look damn cool though.

Erm, I wouldn't even let those get near my house, let alone any of my axes...
