trying to work out cubase. been searching for answers all day so don't throw rtfm or google at me ;)
here's the deal:
- i want to be able to configure from cubase, which knobs and how much, i steer from my midi controller.
- i don't want to use midi learn functions on the vst:s, since that usually only allows you to steer one knob at a time per controller knob. i don't actually want to use any other built-in mapping of vst:s either, so that the mapping process would be as uniform as possible.
- i want to be able to simultaneously steer several knobs on one vsti AND several knobs on insert effects on the same channel.
example:
sytrus with fm-amount controlled by midi cc #16
as insert effect antares filter with cutoff simultaneously controlled by the same knob on my controller (cc #16)
best would be step-by-step instructions, but any pointers are accepted
thank you.
i would also want to send the noteon and noteoff messages to the insert vst:s of the same channel, but i guess that's another issue.

oh, btw, i read something about before going to bed "the generic midi device" .. is that what i'm looking for?

it is "generic remote" you want to read in the manual.
and after reading up on that (wtf did you do when you were "searching for answers all day" ?) go over to cubase.net and ask there. feelings for cubase seem to be pretty harsh over here. also there is a certain amount of fatigue to be perceived regarding dumbcrakuserquestions that are not tolerated in the offical forums.
