wtf..

You guys think I'm stirring up trouble for the hell of it or something?

I just want these people to get the money and not see it get spent on some dircetor's f**king new car..

But hey, as long as everyone closes their eyes you can at least feel better about raising cash even if it never reaches it's intended targets..

I'm done discussing this. Use my track if you want, or just cut me out of the project..

"Friend at last"..wtf is that supposed to mean? I still have friends in NO that I have been unable to reach at all..

Wow! Interesting personal insight. It's interesting how many people I speak to wonder about the Square also. It's an iconic place.
I was a member of Local 444 for many years and union gigs kept me alive for a while, along with unloading sweet potatos off the docks on Canal St. for three dollars a day, so as I have said previously, I've a soft spot for 'em all.

I think of Jackson Square now, and I wonder if it's still there. Incredible.
I'm with you. Those people who think you're an enemy if your truth doesn't match theirs, their loss, IMHO.

EDIT
Whoops! But no ultimatum from me!

I would feel good about giving to musicians.. we get a pretty raw deal at the best of times, and music will probably (wrongly IMO) be regarded as a luxury for a while over there.

I don't understand?

Why did you take offense here?

I have found myself agreeing with everything you have said. Now you're taking something personally? What's up with that? Is it a f**king full moon or something?

I guess I should have defined my statement in less simple terms, like "A friend at last -- the last few minutes have been a bit lonely." Sorry?

This is the kind of thing that always happens. People take things way out of context when nothing harmful or negative was meant at all.

This discontent and ego posturing all started AFAIC when someone decided to announce that they had a problem with a certain religiously chartered charity -- one that has been a first respondent to people in need. OK, so it's not satisfactory, let's move on. But then *some* people just wanted to headbutt the issue further rather than suggest some positive alternatives.

I thought you were among the few who suggested a positive alternative. Yeah?

Are people so virulently anti-religious that they can even be blinded to the good things that are done? WTF is this all about? How f**king arrogant and useless is it to discuss such shit when people are dying?

It makes me sick, all this nonsense. I expected more from some, but we had to hear how they were uspest because they were gay and the Salvation Army isn't, etc. Do we really NEED to know all that shite?

I don't care if the f**kers are from Mars, if they're delivering food and medical supplies and help and moral support to dying, starving sick kids then I am going to give them a hand. If someone thinks that I am a gay-bashing, intolerant, narrow-minded religious freak because I DO choose to help them, then they'll have to live with that error in judgement, I won't.

This isn't the time to bicker and argue f**king religious philosophy, it's the time to help other humans in desperate need.

Anyway, I suggest that if people are unhappy with the way things are progressing, then they should pull their song and go home/whatever. I do not fear a shortage of songs -- We have plenty of great effort from the many who just want to help without attaching a lot of fuckin moral baggage and political posturing to their effort.

Peace. Out.

Two excellent suggestions. Alex, you choose the recipients of our (and all our supporters') hard-earned and we'll take it from there.

Great beginnings! Thursday is quite alright as this thing has just grown wings.

Ideally, I see the tracks being wrapped up within 2 weeks. A week for mastering, and then the push. These are not stringent guidlines though.
ok I just got back home

So I gonna work on the track, and will finish it within the next week.

Please pm me if I need to know something more specific about my contribution.

Xander... The best thing is not to put this to discussion... rather than asking people's opinion on what charity to support, just say what charity the project is going to support and if people don't like it then that's their problem.

the best way to resolve conflict is to make a decision and not allow for any more discussion on the subject. People are going to be bickering until the decision is made... As you and freeztar are in charge of this project, the decision lies with you two... It's your project... ;)

I agree. Make the decision & declare it.

Righto then. I'll talk it over with Keith as soon as he is back from work. Even so, I know that we'll try to make it as palatible as possible.

One thing Sickle said that stuck -- we really DO want our money to go to the effort as directly as possible, and not spread throughout some vast internationally organized charity that may see our efforts go hither and yon.

Anyway, we'll do our best to make it one that is doing the the best job of actually helping Katrina victims.

That said, let's end the debate about it now and carry on making our music -- because all said and done, it's what we do best.

Thanks & Cheers,
Alex

I also want to apologise about the "friend at last" remark of mine. I didn't mean it the way some have taken it.

I said it out of frustration and was just atarting to feel like a bit of a 'pin-cushion' there. I have an unbelievable amount of PM activity going on with questions coming from every front nearly every minute, as well as trying to keep everything buoyant in the thread here.

Believe me when I say that the momentum of this project is a bit daunting, as it's become so phenominally successful.

So anyway, just forget that statement as a slip o' the tongue and honestly not meant as a jibe at anyone ever. True. :)

And Don, please come back and don't take out your song mate. :|
