Again, remember, if we use CDBaby, the price should stay at $25. The buyer still pays the same, but instead of us taking out the shipping, CDBaby will. It adds up the same way.
Also, I only have 6 songs. I still have to upload mine and the one from Newbie Brad that he gave me today. That makes 8. Quite far from the almost 40 songs that we have. Upload as soon as you get a finished product. And yes, next week should still be fine. With all the details to work out still, and the mastering, we have plenty of time. But don't wait too long if you already have your tracks done.

The paypal fee will fortunately only be incurred with preorders. I'm looking into the shipping thing as I saw the website had shipping prices listed and they varied greatly.kovacs wrote:Actually the net would be slightly below $20 because there are paypal fees as well, at most $1.38 for foreign orders, about $1.20 for US orders. But if people preorder more than one CD, the fees go down.freeztar wrote:That $4 includes shipping, so the net would be $21 per cd.
But ... does $4 include shipping EVERYWHERE?
I have to wait until tomorrow to call them, but I'll get on it.

Great, freeztar! I guess that means that orders will go through CDBaby after the preorder phase?
I will update the preorder page with the chosen charities.

Anyone want to put some beat smash on this awesome tune & collab here with t-willy?
t-willy wrote:i can't tell if all the tracks have been choosen for the cd or not or what the hell is going on![]()
but, i've got a rough demo up and need some help/collaboration or something if anyone's interested. if you know me its the usual heavy (although slower) and needs some serious drum help. its only a demo with first takes of vocals and guitars. the drum track is 160 bpm and i'm open for anything (i'd actually like something different besides the usual metal drums - maybe some synths and stuff too??). i've got a basic drum track down, but can post a take without them if someone wants to work on it.

If we use CDBaby, do they give you the option of where to donate your profits? I thought they did it for you and sent it to the Red Cross. I LOVE HFH, but can we still do that? And also, it will likely be months before HFH can get in there and even START to help rebuild. That means that half of our profits won't be used for a while. Not trying to stir the pot, just thinking out loud. I don't want to deprive those who need the help right now.
On a side note. Here in Nashville, Tennessee Titans quarterback Steve McNair and his charity filled 20 semi trailers with supplies from donations and such to take to the gulf. What a blessing!
Also, tonight in the local Wal Mart parking lot, an evacuated Mississipi family had a teenager walk up and hand them a check for $200 then walk away. When I was a teenager, that was ALOT of money!
I think it would be good and encouraging to share local stories, or even non-local ones, so we can be encouraged here. Anyone have any good ones?

Looks good kovacs, but it should be written 'charities' instead of 'charoty'.kovacs wrote:Great, freeztar! I guess that means that orders will go through CDBaby after the preorder phase?

I live in the Atlanta area and the response has been great. Lots of people are coming to Atlanta and housing has been provided by a few universities. There has been an outpour of support here, from what I've seen and heard. It's inspiring. Maybe us humans aren't fudd'up after all!koolkeys wrote: On a side note. first of all: well done with the recent progress!
now that the katrina cd page has been improved, i can send a link to the various yahoo groups. i hope this will help a lot the cd sales.
second: i have already sent my wav cd to markus(xravenx) yesterday with express mail. it will need about 3-4 days to arrive to germany. please wait for my track! ok?
and, yes, i believe that red cross and humanity organizations are fine choices.
many thanks for the great effort.
best regards from athens,
bakis.

Xander/Freeztar/Koolkeys, if you want to go for the 'free Resonance (musiciansforasia) CD for every preorder' thing, I recon advertising that on the site would be a good idea. Also, I'll be the one to send out the resonance CDs (got quite a few in stock here from it's distribution) - i.e. throw me the addies of those who already pre-ordered.
