Just download Voxengo SPAN (free plugin), set it to show a slope of 4.5dB or 5dB. Now use your favourite equalizer to make the line as straight as possible (except there should be a fall after 10khz and before 50hz usually).
For best results, just analyse a favourite commercial tune first, look at where the dips/peaks are and the general 'line' then try matching that with your own material using your favourite EQ.

Another plug-in to check out is Elevayta's FreEQ boy. Not only can it do HarBal-like stuff, but if you want to draw the EQ curve the way bManic suggests, you can do it fairly easily with freehand in the program.
Very versatile plug... can be used for multi-notch and multi-boost weirdness, too, mangling the crap out of sounds.

GlissEQ followed by SPAN tilts my mixes any way I like - I use the bmanic method above - the tilt and bass/mid/high details are different but the technique is the same & simple. Also I don't mind snatching the bass curve from a commercial recording and having CurveEQ suggest some nice changes with it's spectrum match (I can just get rid of the mid and high EQ changes if I don't like them after my A/B test)
BTW later on Har-Bal is coming out with some different averaging schemes so that a single static representation or snapshot of the entire audio clip isn't presented - I haven't seen it yet but I assume it will breath with the actual music a bit more.
