like what forensic software/hardware? examples welcome :)
That's one of the 3 I was recommended 2 years ago when I research this:

Can't remember the other 2, only found this one 'caus I remembered the name "Cambridge" and googled for it. Needless to say I didn't buy any  .

Why does it have to be a plugin?

The type of noise reduction that includes FFT analysis (as requested in the OP) is best done basically as a destructive effect.

I think the OP request was for the best noise reduction, not the best plug in *attempt* at noise reduction.

And I tried it in a stand alone after all the fuss - guess what - Does not work with 24 bit waves in the stand alone either, as well as not work as a plug-in with wavelab or soundforge.

Noise restortation filters are my secret (not now!) sound design weapon. I use them to make them more amazinf filter effects you've ever heard!

But which is the best? Havent a clue Peter, Iv used the Waves one with pretty decent results. I guess it comes down to how bad the noise is. At some point, you'll probably need to re record.

I use SoundSoap. Works for about everything I need to do.

That's what demos are for. Do you demand refunds off devs if you decide you dont like the product?

I doubt I'll now be able to resell it again, so i'm screwed.
You recommend this to me ttoz I trusted your judgment after dealing with you before (where it was fine) I took your word that is was cool - later you tell me it should work as a direct x - then you tell me it does not - and you never had a go at that bit - I posted back pretty damn quick to tell you this was a f**ked bit of software - and wtf is someone supposed to do about not loading 24 bit waves huh?

How far do you want to take this coz I have not deleted any pm's

because i sold soundlaundry 2.5 ADVANCED (normal price $299) to spe3d, which does absolutely everything, in a self contained host package, for $139, provided him with the program and registration code, emailed algorithmix with his reg details, and then he demanded a refund when he found out it doesn't work as a plugin. Like he made that really clear in this thread in his first post.

His loss, and I wish there was a mac version, although i feel i may have been tricked, as he has the reg code and program.
The sound reduction quality if this is easily on a par with soundsoap pro, does full fft fingerprinting, allows you to audition just what's being removed, has full threshold control, total rumble, hum, crackle and pop removers, etc..it restores almost anything to perfect fidelity, algorithmix are one of the world leaders in restoration, and he rejected it cause it's not a plugin, so THAT's why. ok?
:-o I see.

Yep, I looked back at the OP and he asked for a "software application", so indeed, no mention of it being a plugin at all.

In terms of plugins, I guess its the Sony Restoration Suite that Spe3D needs then (widely regarded as the best plugin for noise reduction).

And I can understand you feeling pissed about this, dude...

Even the testimonials speak for themselves.
