:?: sounds interesting. I'll check it out.

{edit} Oh It hought it was going to allow direct recording into projects -to a samper or something- It's just for using the effects live.

Can't this already be done with rewire?

Post

Usually ReWiring means to stream Reason audio outputs to a bigger sequencer (SX, Logic...) to add vocals or master it in a better way.

This is a different story. Hammer let's you stream your audio input inside Reason's rack. This means that you can do live vocoding using BV512 device or play yout guitar through the Scream4 Unit...

A totally new set of applications, give it one more try.

Oh I was just curious. I don't own Reason. IF I did I'd deffinately try it. I thought tah you already could rewire stuf INTO reason. I guess not. In that case you have a real nice product.

I was very impressed with your live set application btw. Made me jealous that XT couldn't do that stuff that fast, clean and easy. Some of the loop functions XT can't even do at all.

Too bad I swore off rewire stuff. (I don't like making music if the whole setup isn't self contained in one file for various reasons.)

This is really cool. Finally you get to use the vocoder and fx in Reason in real time on vocals. Which is great. This tool is a really nice addon to a livesetup based around Reason.

Been playing around with the vocoder for a bit and it works really well. Doesn't seem to eat much resources either.

Thumbs up from me.

they just need to add recording and i know some cats who would jump onto Reason 3 as their "do everything" DAW package :)

I can't really see the point of this package unless one wants to use Reason as real time effects processor without the capability of recording... Why bother?

I'm going to just take a guess here:

Live shows?

I don't do live shows, but between LiveSet and Hammer, I can definately see PeterTools as having created some really, really handy programs that could be used to put on one hell of a perfect live show using Reason.

Well, for live shows one uses Abletons Live with hundreds of VSTs and VSTis and capability of capturing/recording everything on a fly... Oh, and running Reason rewired at the same time.

As oswald said, for livepurposes it's great.

Not all like the Live setup. Also, for me Reason works great and since I bought it I couldn't be happier. A liveinput makes liveshows a piece of cake. Now all I need is Reason and Hammer. Everything bundled within one software (seeing how Hammer basically is running as a service in the background).

I do have Live 4 Lite since it came bundled with my midikeyboard and I have tried v5 as well. Not saying that it isn't great for people like you Leslie, that like Live, it's just not for me.

We all have different preferences.

And when I'm at home recording I use Reason rewired to Cubase.

Can't you record to Cubase if it's rewired?

Ooooh real time audio processing. What an innovative idea.

Nope, doesn't handle chains. It's either Hammer > Reason or Reason > Cubase, not both at the same time. Haven't tried this though, but accordingly to their website it doesn't work and I believe them. Hehe. Although, recording the output of your soundcard via wave/all-you-can-hear is possible if that is something you want.

Perhaps not, but it's a feature that at least I will find very useful.
