Post

im just nervous to even try to use this now because it seems that every time i get a new version it messes up what settings and values i had loaded in on my other songs! haha i guess i should wait until theres a completely stable ver then..?

no offense, this eq is awesome, i just ended up buying spineq and glisseq so... im probably set :P

you can always save and load your preset to registry, that's always save,

Christian

P.S.: If you donate some money (although it's very unlikely, that someone donates money for a freeware thingy), than i will even write you an export and import to whatever format you like. How about saving a preset as an excel sheet?

Maybe it´s just me but i noticed the other day that Posihfopit doesnt work right in Adobe Audition. At least not for me. For a start it shows up twice in the VST Effects list in Audition, and when you open it there´s no GUI, just sliders for each parameter. Just thought i´d mention it.

it has a new dynamic peak filter ('dynpeak'). It's basically an auto-compressor driven peak filter. Works very well on Drums but not so good in complex mixes.
Please tell me if it is worth to develop a series of dynamic filters (*pass, *shelf, etc.).
Btw. I most possible failed my last exam. Maybe i'll get an oral examination at the end of the month. Otherwise i have no plan what to do. Very sad story!

Hi Christian - I downloaded this latest version and cannot find the Dynpeak mode as I step through the peak filter types. I checked the dll date/time and it is 10/9 so I am not sure what the problem is.

Sorry to hear you are worried - good luck with the examiners.

Hold down the right mouse button longer than 0.5 secs.

Christian:

Hopefully your 'oral exam' will be administered by someone who looks like this :D

I really dig the dynamic filter for high freq boosts so far. I'd be REALLY interested to hear a shelving filter with a similar dynamic behavior.

But please, take your time and best of luck with your studies!

Thanks again for your outstanding free software

does anyone have the same problem like me: when i use this fabolous piece of software in energy ext and reload a project using it, all the settings are wrong. sometimes reset gain (i think thats how it is called) works but not allways.
zort!

Ah - that did the trick. Thanks.

Can you briefly say what the effect of the Auto-compressor would be - is this similar to the Dynpeak mode in GlissEq?

Eg: if I set up a band at 100 Hz with 4dB boost and there is a lot of energy in that band at a particular point in time then that frequency band will be boosted less than the nominal 4 dB. Correct?

Yes, that's right. The so called autocompressor works basically with two envelope followers. One very slow (about 4 seconds) and one with about 1/3s (release) and 20ms attack. The difference between the two envelope followers is the gain/attenuation.

But don't nail me down, the time constants may change within the next beta versions.

Have fun, because i don't,

Christian

Is there any way to adjust Q?

The EQ sounds amazing, but a lack of conventional controls like being able to adjust Q width makes it really limiting to me... Maybe just a small slider on the bottom to adjust q width of the current selected point?

If I could also offer a suggestion, starting with just a couple points, and then adding more through double clicking would be a great feature.

And although I can't spell the name from memory, I think this is the best EQ I've heard by far, and that giving it the precision of traditional EQ controls would make it a the best EQ out there, period.
