I am doing what I can about preorders. But all my pals have long since given to various katrina relief efforts, and its a hard sell.
I will persevere, though.

Well, did you tell them they get a free Resonance CD with each pre-order? Did you tell them that, not only just normally amazing musicians will be on the KRCD, but also YOU will be on it as well? eH?herodotus wrote:I am doing what I can about preorders. Cool mate, I know you're doing your best.

We need to highlight or enquote the names of the CDs, thusly:kovacs wrote:Second attempt then:

Think it would be better not to type out the musicians for asis URL in order to avoid confusing people with another charity project. Just a link on the word Resonance CD that points to the tracklist here would be better I believe.
Also the 'only available while stocks last' shouldn't be mentioned twice, makes it sounds a bit too much like a tv knife advert 'and with this shiny knife you also get THIS bigass can of car polish - for free!' which is what I think we should avoid
Otherwise spiffy!

Thanks Raven, updated the text. It will have to do for the next hour or the missus will kill me for having turned off the water for too long...

I've stared posting messages to various music related yahoo groups that I belong to. I see someone else is, too, as we've attracted a potential song contributor!
Here's where I've sent messages thus far:
Philly_Ambient
the_ambient_way
Lords_of_the_Mini
I'd encourage any of you with similar affiliations to do the same.
Try not to make it sound like spam, though. Here's something like what I'm posting:
I'm not sure how many members here are familiar with http://www.kvraudio.com, but it's a web site dedicated to music plug-ins that also maintains an extensive forum section. Well, myself and a group of the artists who frequent the forums there are putting together a double CD to help the victims of hurricane Katrina. All the proceeds from this project will be split between the Red Cross and Habitat for Humanity.
We are currently taking pre-orders for the CD, so if you'd like to learn more about this project and how you can help out, please check out our project web site: http://www.katrinareliefcd.com
Or something like that.

Yes -- I agree also. Good idea -- I suppose we all assume, wrongly, that everyone is as technologically savvy as we are...snooky wrote:looks good emdot, but not everyone knows what a "music plug-in" is...let's say "a web site dedicated to music technology"
