I've been giving Rebirth a try. I like the patter controlled filter, PCF effect.

Is anyone aware of a freewareVST effect similar to this?

If you use Cubase SX. You own already one Filter like this. It`s called `Step Filter`

Er, I use these sometimes:

FiltSeq! from SonicAssault(Great freeware from this dev)

Stepcomb from Oli Larkin (Very usable, good results)

Phatsync from FXpansion (Think I actually creamed the dll. file for this from a cracked version of Cubase 5.x a cupla years ago which was buggy as hell and completely uselesss(Oh no not Warez, Oh the horror, the shame)). Anyway if you can "find" "borrow" "obtain" this it has a very easy interface and gives great results though it is quite an "old" VSTi now.

Sorry I've got no links for these suggestions. I'm really shit at links (probably cos I'm a Crackhead or something)
