one ping only rules, and i mean that. Its great for glitch percussion, especually put through some DFX effects

omg.

Face it folks, its a bit capable but in a nutshell like someone said, it's shitty. Some people are getting good sounds out of spite as ANY synth can get at least one good sound.

When I collaborate with people, I often like to pick something, that on the surface, or at first glance, may seem simple, or without much value, and explore its potential for expression.

For instance, the other week, while inprovising with friends, I spent quite a while exploring the sonic potential of a living room couch, as I tried to figure out how to get into my ex-girlfriend's bestfriend's pants.

It is a less hostile way of saying, "Your question is meaningless, you are looking only at the tool as the source of the product. The tool is just a means. You are the source. I'll see you on page 20 of this thread after every synth ever made has been added to the list."

It just isn't as funny if we type that out every time. In fact, that last bit is I think the origin of the joke. After a list of a 1000 synths for trance, someone surely said, "And don't forget One Ping Only." There after, the first post merely cut to the chase. It has become the proverbial kitchen sink.

Funnier still is that One Ping Only can be a fairly useful thing. But I know, you don't get it. Such is life.
