That's correct.

What you could try is, first set up a very basic pattern in the sequencer, say for example, 1 effect every 4 steps (you can do this quickly with the Clear button). Then change all those steps to the Passthru effect (you can do this quickly by right-clicking the Solo button on the Passthru effect controls). Then, the step in the sequencer which you do want to be glitched, manually change that step to whatever effect it is you want by right-clicking on it.

I think that all made sense, heh.

Alternatively, you could automate the Output Mix parameter to 0% to let the original signal pass through, then turning the mix to 100% wet whenever you wanted to hear the glitch stuff.

haha, this is crazy. What are you using to create these with? It seems quite out of sync in places. Are your loops all correctly matched to the bpm and stuff?

Edit: Nevermind, I remembered that you use Live, right?

crazy stuff either way, haha. very experimental.

This is brilliant! I'll buy it as soon as get my new credit card.

It would be interesting to hear what kind of features you're thinking about in the future? Would it be possible to add multiple outs? Maybe as a separate .dll? i.e. one output for each 'modulation channel'.

thanks

I think the people asking how to stop the effect simply don't realise that one of the effects (well, sort of) you can program into the step-sequencer is 'pass'. No need for fancy automation if that's what you're asking.

Excellent to see someone finally deliver a successful, musically useful implementation of the oft promised automatic beat f**king plug-in concept. Nice one dblue. Guess you don't want my bug report on the August command-line beta now. :hihi:

Yep. Just 2 Glitches in Live5 and a couple loops. Both of those tracks were done very quickly. Just Glitchin' up the beat for fun. :D

Haha wow, I hadn't seen your post before but Glitch certainly is very similar to your idea huh? Uncanny.

Completely over-the-top nonsense, pulled off within half an hour or so, but this stuff would easily take me half a day to do manually.
