There's a guy on eBay who is claiming to sell FL Studio's XXL package for $99.
<Link Removed>
I've sent him a few messages quizzing him about this, since he is apparently offering 10 copies for a price 1/3 less than what you can get the software for from Image Line.
So far, his reponses have been somewhat vague, to say the least.
I keep trying to get him to tell me if these are legitimate copies or not so I know if I need to report him.
He keeps writing things like:
"It comes on CD-Rs although it is a full copy of the software."
Which could simply mean it's a full, pirated copy of the software.
I asked him if it comes with a license number that I could actually register with Image Line. I asked him if this was some sort of group license or academic version.
He writes:
"no this is a personal item. It comes with a licence #. Thanks"
Ah, yes. But WHOSE license number?
What should I do? Should I report him to eBay? I don't see any way this guy can be selling 10 copies of a $300 piece of software for 1/3 of the normal asking price.
One of those things that I wish was true, but obviously can't be.
Brian
EDIT: Removed the link.

If FL Studio XXL is available as a download product, then he could have put the download on a CD-R . . . however, no company is going to allow you to sell 10 copies of it. At most their liscence transfer policy would allow him to sell one copy.Thoth93 wrote:..."It comes on CD-Rs...

Email ImageLine; they can report him to ebay. And pull the link to the auction please.

Yes, while EBay will stop the auction, they are so busy that hearing directly from the developer will scoot them along a bit quicker. But yeah, the link shouldn't be here, even though your intentions are good.

Sorry about that. I my zeal, I guess I got a bit carried away.
Anyone have contact information for Image Line? Their Web site is confusing me.

find out what version it is while you're at it, it's possible somehow he got a bunch of the boxed editions, but an earlier version...Thoth93 wrote:Sorry about that. I my zeal, I guess I got a bit carried away.

Found an e-mail link for Image Line. So I guess I'll inform eBay, too, and then it's up to them.
