I don't know if anyone would be interested in the piece I wrote in this thread
http://www.kvraudio.com/forum/viewtopic ... 18#1382518
- although I didn't have the CD in mind when I composed "when all else fails" it was an emotional and musical response to the disaster and attempt in my own clumsy way to encapsulate some of my feelings, hopes etc.

Just thought I should mention: I decided the tune I wrote sucks so I'm making another one
for the sake of simplicity I am calling it by the same name (I'll rename the other one if I ever try to rescue it) and the old link now points to a rough mix of the new track:
IIRs-UnderCurrent
.. but its DnB now, and a bit shorter!
Anyone thinking about track order take note!!! Everyone else: don't worry about it. (I hadn't uploaded the wav yet anyway..
I promise I will make the deadline though!)

NOTICES:
Track Deadline
We are getting CLOSE to the deadline for track submissions...BUT:
...there are a few mates that have decided (early on in this project) that if the double CD went over limits, we would NOT submit our tracks. This means me as well, since it's way more important for the CD to be successfully produced than to have a xander track on it (sorry to our collab buddies if this be the case). This is the best way to ensure we have enough quality tracks and fewer hassels/worries. If those tracks voluntarily removed aren't enough, we'll ask for more volunteers, and I am sure everyone is cool enough about it to volunteer, so we should NOT be worried about the CD length/too many tracks, etc..
We're going to feel much better knowing that the money is going from a CD we produced to help people in desperate need -- a way better feeling than poncing about with a CD going: "I'm somebody! I'm somebody!!"
Bios
We should have posted some guidelines on this, but basically it's a free-form thing and should only be about three lines. The bios are needed in projects like this to lend more depth to the track than just it's music, and when the listener see such, they get a more personal feeling about the music. Your name ought to be your chosen professional name. HOWEVER, I have known famous artists to collab on projects like this using fake names so they wouldn't violate their Label contracts.
Up to you!

Thanks - I'll upload the original wav master then :
Do you think I should use my real name instead of my KVR nick - I don't feel particularly amused about this?

I have pondered this question. I will use my real name. Personally, I think it would be good if everyone did, but I suppose some have a like for the anonymity of their KVR handle, so no pressure there. It's all up to you however, I have asked everyone (see above) for an artist bio for inclusion in the liner notes, which of course works well with a real name. Hence, you don't have as much potential for this:
Track 32: Zitface -- "My mama was yo mama when ma daddy was yor uncle". Born in Arkansas and learned how to play when just 4. Quote: "I love women, beer and Fruity Loops, in that order, oh and pizza."

ON THE OTHER HAND...(guess I should mention....)
Some feel that using a nickname rather than their real name makes the musicians on the CD look less like they want to use this as a professional opportunity. So there is that to think about...

I wouldn't worry about that at all. Compare it to the PR projects by major artists. Because a lot of money comes out there for charity nobody complains there either, even though it's a lot less per CD than the KVR based projects.
These CDs here aren't purchased by label A&R departments, usually by artists and their families.

Phew, I finally got my master track uploaded. I rared it to make it go a little faster. I hope thats not a problem. As for names on the album I think I would like to just use my kvr nick. I'm not really trying to draw any attention to myself with this. Just want to help out.
