OK I am a rather newbie at sam-pling, since I always use mics instead! BUt I have the DKFH 2 and it ships with Kompackt player,, NOt a great program for drums. I was under the assumption that I could only load these samples into this program,, Naive yes,, But I have just got Emu Emulkator X since i have the 1820 and I will have a version of Battery very soon,, BUt I cannot find a Converter(or I dont kow of one, Emu's doesnt support this.nki file)that will convert the DKFH .nki files,, I imagine that this is the kompact files? I know its simple, but Im tired and would rather be told,, so I can be done with it,, thnakn

You can get format converters which not only take the samples, they also convert the programs to be as compatiable as possible when loaded as a new sampler format.

These link to software which does the job required.

Although I don't think the Konpakt players will convert easily. Give it a whizz.

Chicken translator will not convert the Kontakt player(Nothing will!)

The programs that it "Translates" are the sample Programs(Or Multi's)
that are set up on the original sampler

If you have Kontakt/Kontakt 2, I believe you can use the samples in there.

hah Yeah man I actually thought you couldnt use the samples elsewhere, although that would make more sense casue all I wanted was the samples and I figured well good it also comes with free sample player. Great,, I have had this for 2 years and the other day I was at good ole Gitar Senter,,(spelled like ritards casue 9 out of 10 these guys are) and I was looking at anpohter sample disc that had the Kontakt Player and I said,,"Ahh I dont want that casue I could only use that sampler" And they say with much gusto,, ""no you can use with any sampler" Isaid' Idonthink so he says" I am 100% sure that you can" Well unless we are all idiotsa I agree with me and whoever else said so,, It aint happening!! You know everytime I realize I know more than the salesman, I keep getting suckered into one of their lies<< Pure Lies,, DOes anyone ever go in and just act dumb and aska question you KNOW they will answer wrongly and then correct them,, I find that to be not much fun,,!!
