What's the problem, mate? I used CoreFtp and had no problem as soon as I tried it where there was no firewall stopping things. I.e., my work firewall wouldn't let me FTP but at a friend's house it went fine.Hink wrote:help...I have no idea what I'm doing here with ftp...I've tried the smartFTP (free) and nvu...someone help thi old fool...

And probably best to do this via PM or email? 40+ conversations on the subject here will bog things down pretty fast.TotcProductions wrote:Ok folks. here's the deal with mastering. TOTC please master my song The Whisper anyway you see fit...
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

hehehe, sorry, definitely PM or email me these things. Or, you could upload a small text file with your track giving a description of what you want and il'l contact you about it.emdot_ambient wrote:And probably best to do this via PM or email? 40+ conversations on the subject here will bog things down pretty fast.TotcProductions wrote:Ok folks. here's the deal with mastering. Thanks to the dieties for WiFi!!
I'll be online for a couple hours thanks to my neighborhood pub.
It's been hard not having access to this thread, but let me assure you, lots of things are going on in the background. (ie marketing, talking to cd manufacturers, negotiating with cdbaby, etc.)
I'm still with this 100% and hopefully will be back in swing in a short time.
Everything seems to be going smooth.
I've got some good news, but let me hash out all the details before I reveal it.

As always, my PM box is open to anyone, anytime for comments and suggestions.
Everybody's efforts are much appreciated, we aren't far from launch as a result.

From what I understood, from sickle, is that he does not wish to be part of the project at all. He didn't say anything specifically about his song, but I think it was implied.emdot_ambient wrote:I'm not sure what Sickle's status is on this project anymore since he's had Hink post an RIP thread for him . . . does that mean his song's out or do we have free reign to use all or part(s) of it?

Also, Sunday is looking to be the deadline for submissions. That should be ample time for everyone to finish up and upload their tracks.
Speaking of which, keep those uploads coming. I'm sure Totc would like as many tracks as possible, early on, to get a feel for what the overall sound is going to be like.

Hey Freezey!
OK cool
I hope everyone has read TOTC's explanation of his efforts. I agree completely and it needed to be posted.
That said, I'd like to repeat that they should PM him about their individual mastering requirements. If there is any hardcore disagreement, please PM me or Freeztar and we will arbitrate.
I must off to work now, but I'll check back in in a few hours!
GREAT EFFORT EVERYONE!
Things are going 'swimmingly'
Cheers,
Alex

Ok, my track is done. it's short...but like i say, inspirational. Electronic, hous-like. Check out the final version (although i might change some mixign/mastering stuff) HERE
comments? questions? concerns?
does it sound like something that belongs on this CD?
any feedback appreciated.
peace!

It's not coming through...slows down to 1.8 kbps and then freezes. Same thing with all the other tracks. It's strange as noone else here is using a laptop.
Look forward to hearing all the tracks though as I've only heard a handful so far.

I don't know that the requirements should be - this is a cool song and I like it. Upbeat and not too moody. My own track is a bit like that, perhaps slightly more ambient, but I am in the "we don't need more sad music on this CD" camp so I say "yay!".TotcProductions wrote:does it sound like something that belongs on this CD?

My calculator now says we have 40x$25 = $1,000 minus fees.
