Hi folks,
I thought I'd let you all be the first to know about our big product announcement concerning Power Suite 5 and the release of MultiDynamics 5. See our website for all the info (as well as a big sale on v4 products, with the option to get full credit or more towards v5 upgrades)... we're very excited about the new features and look, and hope you'll take the demos for a spin! I'm always available for feedback.

Track plug looks fun. Wish I could use that 10 point graphic EQ as a filterbank and just sweep all the frequencies at once. (Yeah I know not the point of a track plug)

I recently got in on some of your Wave Arts 4 products like Trackplug, Panorama, Multidynamics - I wasn't expecting to pay anything else at least not so soon. I guess I'm ignorant about your update/upgrade cycle and bug/feature work. You do bug releases on current versions? Do feature updates only come out in the next version that you charge for? Some details about that kind of stuff would be appreciated.

Don't worry, since you got in on the sales this summer you can still upgrade and spend less overall than the price of the v5 plug-ins!kylen wrote:I recently got in on some of your Wave Arts 4 products like Trackplug, Panorama, Multidynamics - I wasn't expecting to pay anything else at least not so soon. But to make things more clear hopefully: we've been supporting and releasing free updates for v4 products for over a year, and this is the biggest product line-up enhancement that's happened in our company's history. Once all v5 products are released we will not continue v4 upgrades as all our development has shifted to the new plug-in architecture (and it's a challenge enough to support two platforms, 3-4 formats per platform), unless there is sufficient reason to do so.
We are always conscious of the timing of releases and rewarding existing customers for their loyalty, so we try to make the upgrade paths as reasonable as possible while still sustaining revenue for future development. Panorama upgrades to v5 will be free (since the product is relatively new and enhancements will be mostly GUI related), other v4 to v5 upgrades are going to be $60 (or a $100 credit per plug-in towards an upgrade to a v5 bundle).
For customers who bought MultiDynamics within the past couple months (after the $99 sale ended), the upgrade to MD5 will be only $25.
As always, don't hestitate to contact me personally with any questions or concerns (PM or support@wavearts.com)

just got the e-mail about this. got me all excited to upgrade my powersuite... except i have to wait until october to do it
still, new GUI's look awesome and i can't wait for the new features in trackplug and finalplug. this makes me happy that i've kept my selection of plugins down to just a handful of developers (wavearts, tritone, UA, and glaresoft) and resisted urges to buy other plugins/bundles similar to what i already have in the powersuite. now you guys just need to hurry up and release the rest so i can hand over my upgrade money

@rpmartino: what features/improvements will be included for TrackPlug 5, ie what will $60 for an upgrade buy?
Cheers

besides updated GUI's, trackplug has brickwall filters, vintage and clean compression modes, dual compressors, sidechain EQ, and a peak limiter added to the output. pretty big improvements if you ask me.
looks like masterverb is going to become a multi-algorithm reverb (i.e. hall, plate, etc.) as opposed to room only. also looks like they're adding a few other nice features to it.
this should be a pretty good update.

TrackPlug 5 adds another compressor (so you can run two in serial), two additional EQ shapes (analog shelves with peak), vintage/clean compression modes (one for transparent sound, one for colorization), brickwall filters (very steep lowpass/highpass filters), sidechain EQs for each of the three dynamics sections, presets for each section (EQ, gate, each comp), overall GUI reorganization, and a peak limiter. Our website has a screenshot.
MasterVerb 5 will add an early reflection control section and more late reverb algorithms (MV4 is a hall reverb), including a nice plate algorithm, and envelope control for doing things like gated reverb, maybe a few more things there and there (we're developing this one now).
