If you have worked on your file long enough, before corrupting, there's actually more than a chance a backup copy has been auto saved by fl studio in the trashbin directory as backup.flp . It really saved my ass one time.

Oh, and also, back to the topic at hand, add some other controls to the base sampler, i know the new one is coming, but that's really a different beast, i mean, just quick start and end point automatable controls, and adsr envelope, it would be killer.

Also i'd like a better way to edit velocity and other stuff when step programming, i was thinking something along the lines of the piano roll way, a velocity value display bar that stays fixed above or below all the steps, then displays values according to the selected sampler. Meh

What I'd really like to see:
- The capability of having multiple channels visible in the Piano Roll at the same time. Its tedious having to swap from one channel to another without being able to see them all together. This way, you can see all the notes at the same time which would really help in being able to see how a pattern fits into a whole song and how the notes from one pattern relate to the notes in the other patterns. This would move FLS away from being seen as just a pattern-based sequencer, and towards being a fully-fledged compositional tool.
- Make use of right-clicking in the Piano Roll (and elsewhere) for bringing up menu items, particularly changing editing tools as this saves having to return to the top-left of the PR in order to change tools each time.
- Ummmmm....and a bigger mixer! :)

I hate when after finishing a compostion in FL, and saving, that when I go back to tweak a few things, a message pops up saying: Corrupted file cannot be open (or something to that effect). I really wish that that wouldn't happen.

Does anyone have a cure for that?
There is a tool avaliable on the tech-Support forum to recover files.

That said I have been using FL for 4 years (make 2-10 flps/week) and had 1 corrupt file...your experience sounds very unusual.

Carb.

Just check out these threads and you'll notice most of the requests (new mixer with PDC help & full routing, new sampler, sustain pedal, multiple midi ins, ...) are solved/available in the FL6 :

I would really love to see a distinction of VST Instruments and Effects in the big List of available plugins...

And 2. it would be fine that you can change a VST Instrument of a channel into a internal instrument. Now you have to do copy and paste...

My thoughts...

At last: I really love FLStudio... :)

I have never had a corrupted FLP. Ever.

FL didn't win overall product of the year for nothing. :hihi:

Ive never made FL5 work for me as good as FL4 did (and does)
I know this is a problem with me not with the product, since I know most use FL5 without problems. But I've had configures FL5 exactly like I configured FL4 and have audio problems (clicks when audio comes via line in, which I haven't in FL4)

anyway, FL has more or less eveything I need, and I expect FL6 will work for me, I'll have then FL5 and 6 improvements in one package. The Direct Wave Sampler is a necessity, I'll buy the full version.

Well, it seems to be just the old mixer unrolled vertically, but thats an improvement if you can resize it :). Thanks!

What I'd like to see...

* MIDI Export from Piano Roll without going through the Tools menu and converting the whole project. There's MIDI import, why not export?

* Piano Roll highlighting to show key/mode - currently you can only see C Major. I'd like to see the piano roll reflect E major or E minor or D Dorian (heh!) with the 'gray' notes. I'm a beginner, I can't remember these things!

* Audio/MIDI routing in/out in a channel for VSTi and FL instruments. Current implementation of MIDI routing is clumsy!

* Ghost notes are useful, why not extend it across all patterns? If I make a song with all channels on one pattern, it helps to see the other instruments underneath. Once I split to several patterns, that ability is gone.

(PS. Yeah, I know. D Dorian is C Major).

TAP TEMPO!!!

pressing a key several times and capturing the tempo of external audio. Very usefull to synchronize with dj sets or any other song. Easy but useful, and don't think it's hard to do....
