Well, going to have to crank some zzzz's now. 02:35 here.
I have been told we have a heap of pre-orders on the way, so I think we're gonna be cutting hot wax grooves very soonly.
Peace me Brothers!

************NOTE:*************
Make sure you upload a full wav file mixdown. If possible AT ALL, don't use mp3 as your upload. Yes, the files are bigger, but that's fine. It helps with the end quality of mastering. Upload AT LEAST 44.1khz and 16 bit*******************
Contact Koolkeys or post here with any FTP questions or if this isn't a viable option for you.
** IF YOU ARE STILL HAVING PROBLEMS WITH THE FTP SITE, PLEASE LET ME KNOW. WE MAY BE ABLE TO HOST & UPLOAD FOR YOU.
*IMPORTANT ==> CURRENT NOTICES:
Track Deadline
We are getting CLOSE to the deadline for track submissions...BUT:
...there are a few mates that have decided (early on in this project) that if the double CD went over limits, we would NOT submit our tracks. This means me as well, since it's way more important for the CD to be successfully produced than to have a xander track on it (sorry to our collab buddies if this be the case). This is the best way to ensure we have enough quality tracks and fewer hassels/worries. If those tracks voluntarily removed aren't enough, we'll ask for more volunteers, and I am sure everyone is cool enough about it to volunteer, so we should NOT be worried about the CD length/too many tracks, etc..
We're going to feel much better knowing that the money is going from a CD we produced to help people in desperate need -- a way better feeling than poncing about with a CD going: "I'm somebody! I'm somebody!!"
Bios
We should have posted some guidelines on this, but basically it's a free-form thing and should only be about three lines. The bios are needed in projects like this to lend more depth to the track than just it's music, and when the listener see such, they get a more personal feeling about the music. Your name ought to be your chosen professional name. HOWEVER, I have known famous artists to collab on projects like this using fake names so they wouldn't violate their Label contracts.
Up to you!

just some quick questions...how many preorders do we need to be truly successful? me and my girl are going to order one a piece, plus ive been getting the word around here in the metro ATL area..hopefully that will generate some sales. I might even get a chance to play my track on the radio, with relevant website info to plug!
...if that works, may be a good boost...ill keep you guys posted.
Allen

OK,
www.eclecticmeme.com/audio/techbot-relentless.mp3
Tune is based around the eye of a storm, but the relentless title refers to the rebuilding afterwards, represented by the high hats in the second part of the tune.
The long cymbal is obviously the storm, whilst the Sax is human spirit . This includes a filtered distorted sax right after the eye has passed (my longest ever breakdown) to represent the temporary despair. The plodding drums represent time moving forward regardless.
Based on comments it'll be ready Saturday.

We should be VERY fine with 75 preorders, but I think we'll survive with about 60. I don't know the budget for the CD pressing yet but I gather it's around $1300 or so.AllenPOPO wrote:just some quick questions...how many preorders do we need to be truly successful?

Speaking of that . . . has anyone actually decided on a place to do the CDs? I haven't seen anything on that front posted here for quite a while . . . like what the cost will be, whether it's going to be a nice thin fold-out double CD jewel case or one of the old big bulky ones.

I'd recommend something lighter and less bulky than the old double jewel cases, wouldn't want to run into trouble with shipping costs with cdbaby. And do they know this is gonna be a double-CD?
