is there anything like a midi controllable gate where the frequency areas, slope steepness and the width of the bands can be automated? I.e. every band has it's own midi note and opens up whenever a midi note is played, with the other params automatable? That would make for rather nice rhythmical effects.

Sounds like it should be fairly easy to change any vocoder vst to work like that. For the developer I mean.

I have Spectral gate in SpectrumWorx but i removed band selection for that. Perhaps i have to return it. I like how spectral gate performs. Easy and very fun. I have in project one more intelligenmt gate that affect harmonic or noise part of spectrum.
