ANYONE KNOW OF A FREE VST AUTO TUNE THAT WORKS SIMILAR TO ANTARES? AM I DREAMING OR IS THER SUCH AN ANIMAL????

CAN YOU GET ON KVR NOW WITH TEXT MESSAGES? SURELY THIS IS THE ONLY REASON FOR SUCH A STREAM OF CAPITALS?! MY MUM'S TEXTS ARE ALWAYS IN CAPITALS. I'M NOT REALLY SURE WHY, SURELY IT'S FAIRLY SIMPLE TO GET IT TO TYPE IN NORMAL LETTERS. I DON'T KNOW THO, IT LOOKS LIKE SOME PEOPLE STILL HAVE A PROBLEM TYPING USING A CONVENTIONAL KEYBOARD, LET ALONE A DINKY LITTLE MOBILE COMMUNICATIONS DEVICE. OH WELL!

i beilieve there are two. one by gvst called gsnap, and one by kim lajoie called cartune, which might some day be a betabugs plugin. both are in beta. i have no idea how good they are, as i've never needed such a device.

I find GVST to be fairly awesome for 'autotune' purposes, and it CAN be subtle if your vocals are already fairly well-pitched. It has a few more options (such as assignable major key-- if you want a minor key, just find out what the relative major is) than CarToon, and is working quite well for me recently.

CarToon has an auto mode, too, but it's chromatic, so your singing has to be in-key even if there are slight errors in pitch. HOWEVER, and this is where the fun begins-- you can also control it with MIDI, allowing you to do things like precise corrections or the weirdest of weird jumps. Your vocal track becomes an instrument.

It's a hell of a lot of fun! Pluggo Runtime and Quicktime required for CarToon to operate.

GVST stuff is an awesome recent discovery for me. I haven't tried them all (or even most) out yet, but I'm already using GSnap and GTune all the time and they're in my permanent collection now.

though audiopitch is not really an autotune, it's a midi controlled pitchshifter.. quite handy for monotone singers..
