To give proper credit, we hired bitplant for those. Needless to say we are quite happy with their work...seamoss wrote:the new GUI looks great.

These look fantastic! I demo'ed the Power SUite over the summer holiday and am very interested in buying - even more so now
One question... will the new plugs (and Masterverb in particular) maintain the extraordinary low CPU of the current ones (which is a big attraction imho)?

HI
I hope you can add a few things to make the reverb more interesting - a swirl 'a la lexicon' subtle 3d pan, a spring alog, a 1 band para eq, morph between 2 pre-sets ....
Just some thoughts!
Flipper.

Yes, we are still striving to maintain low CPU via the same optimization techniques we've used for all our plug-ins. There will be some more CPU usage here and there obviously with the enhanced features added, but it will still be efficient.headquest wrote:These look fantastic! Excellent stuff. Thanks for the reply Rob.rpmartino wrote:Yes, we are still striving to maintain low CPU via the same optimization techniques we've used for all our plug-ins. By the way, thanks too for your generous educational discounts (I am a teacher). They are a significant enticement, I must say, and of course students often go and buy the same software that I have taught them with (as Ableton may well verify - several Live 5 sales here!!)

Upgrades are based on the regular (not sale prices), and PS5 retails for $599.95. You could buy PS4 now (on sale for $399.95), then upgrade for $100 when PS5 is available, which is the same as buying PS5 on sale when it comes out. I guess the main incentive being you can use plug-ins now, and you're still getting a sale price on PS5 before it goes back up to $599.95.ttoz wrote:the only upgrades that aren't clear are basically "what happens if i buy powersuite V4 now"??
if i am to take it literally, each plugin is worth $100 upgrade value, there are 5, and $500 is the price of PS5. So if I buy now is the upgrade to V5 free?

It will always be $100.ttoz wrote:so no matter when I decide to upgrade to Ps5, it will always be $100 right? or do you mean it will go to $200?
If so, that's ridiculous.

i only looked at the WaveArts homepage before and thought that the introduction of MultiDynamics was the only change for the version 5 suite. but wow, the new GUIs look great and those feature additions sound great too!rpmartino wrote:TrackPlug 5 adds another compressor (so you can run two in serial), two additional EQ shapes (analog shelves with peak), vintage/clean compression modes (one for transparent sound, one for colorization), brickwall filters (very steep lowpass/highpass filters), sidechain EQs for each of the three dynamics sections, presets for each section (EQ, gate, each comp), overall GUI reorganization, and a peak limiter. Our website has a screenshot.
MasterVerb 5 will add an early reflection control section and more late reverb algorithms (MV4 is a hall reverb), including a nice plate algorithm, and envelope control for doing things like gated reverb, maybe a few more things there and there (we're developing this one now).

Just reading through this thread and also received the mail this morning. The new gui's look very nice indeed. More importantly... the plugins themselves seem very interesting. I'm definitely going to look into upgrading to the full suite perhaps.
I've been using Masterverb as my main reverb. It's become my bread and butter reverb that I use in conjunction with the Princeton. On a number of occasions from completely different sources, I have gotten very positive comments referring to the use of reverb in my productions. In fact, I've had people tell me that things sounded as if they were recorded live in a real space instead of being assembled inside the computer.
So, very cool news re the coming updates!

Hi rpmartino - I'd like to upgrade the MD4 to MD5 now since MD5 is available. I didn't see the $25 choice on your Wave Arts Web page. Do I just upgrade and it will take care of itself? Thanks, Kylerpmartino wrote: For customers who bought MultiDynamics within the past couple months (after the $99 sale ended), the upgrade to MD5 will be only $25.
As always, don't hestitate to contact me personally with any questions or concerns (PM or support@wavearts.com)
BTW - Multidynamics is really saving my butt doing some rebalancing of live shows where there's too much hihat stick and the bass/kick are just a little rocky. I set up a quick 3-band using crossovers around 300Hz and 3KHz and tweak the lows and highs to taste. Followed by a mastering compressor (pick any one from the crunchessor thread!) for a little character and I get a whole lot better sound! Cool, quick, and useful multiband for rebalancing stuff.
