Thanks Goseba..just what we need.Myself, I get 30 to 50 precent depending on what patch. I thought it was my card( Audigy2) so I just got a new one ( EMU 0404) and it seems better, but not even close to your numbers. I have a P4 2.3Ghz with 523 MB RAM too. Must be my system.

anybody else?

Pentiums?? +ram :D

Looking at the others figures now, my PC seems not bad at all.
I wonder how much is to do with CPU type?

(Updated previous post with audio card and host used).

My system is a P4 2.3Ghz with 523MBRAM, EMU 0404 card with the new drivers.
1 note is 20 to 30 %
4 notes us 40 to 50%
Patches with long release times can go up to 70% :-(

something is wrong.
Does hard drive speed count?

However with other plugins like albino2, eve, ect..it is pretty low. maybe it's P4's and SE, as I usually get the same thing using any SE synth ( exept for the MiniMougVA..very good CPU, 2 to 5%

Ok Tim here are my readings.

Using M42 v1.1
Quasar Pad Patch

I measured this using the XP Performance monitor since I use Tracktion 2 and Tracktions cpu indicator is basically an afterthought. I love T2 but the cpu meter is garbage.

The setup is M42 only with no other effects in line.
No disk access.

No keys pressed. Tracktion and M42 idling.
Avg% - 4.5
Min% - 2.34
Max% - 10.9

1 Key pressed
Avg% - 5.6
Min% - 3.125
Max% - 10.156

2 Keys pressed
Avg% - 6.3
Min% - 3.125
Max% - 9.325

3 Keys pressed
Avg% - 6.06
Min% - 3.9
Max% - 10.1

4 Keys Pressed
Avg% - 6.24
Min% - 3.9
Max% - 10.9

The time that these were averaged over is 1.5 minutes holding the key(s) pressed continually.

Oh yea the system...DOH!!!
P4 560j dual core. 3.6GHz
1Gb RAM
Audigy2 ZS 7.1
XP SP2

Hope this helps.

It could also be my processor: a celeron(R)Just heard that even tho it's P4, it does not perform well.HMM..maybe time to get a laptop or something.

Cool, these numbers are quite good for a SE synth. As I need spacy sounds here, just have to get it I think :)

Regards
No need to own hundreds of synths here, only two are enough d(*O*)b

Cool, I have received my links to download M42 and the ambient SF2 soundbank :P I guess I have to add a line to my sig hehe
By the way, as I'm reading the manual, I can translate it in French if you wish. Don't know, it might help the French computer aided musician community get interested in Nebula
Oops, I'm afraid M42 + Cygnus may make me reach Heaven before I'm dead :hihi:

Glad you are aboard the nebula!
Funny: I was born in Paris, but don't know french :-)My dad was there for the US gov when they had me. We went back to the states, then in hi-school, I took french and my french teacher happened to be in the same grp that went with them to france. I still got a D :-)Those were my hippie long hair days :-)

anyway: it might be good, I will have to ask my partner. But we don't want to make translations for every language..but you never know.

Thanks again for getting the set and hope to hear some space tunes from you.
