:D

No crackles, no strange phase shifting like the other product.

2.3 - 5% CPU
instead of the
9.4 -15% CPU
of the original.

Vocal Timbre, does not have the "Typ selector",
I would prefer a knob instead of fixed values.
What do you think ?

DuosX will be a "Minimal Donation Ware"
for a minimum of 10 Euro. :D

Go and A/B DuosX with the other product! ;)

No Pace, no ilok, just a simple serial number.

Sorry, PC only.

Have fun !

Sounds like a delayed vocoder. Is that what Duos sounds like, too?

From your side as it seams. :hihi:
Antares wrote: DUO automatically generates a doubled vocal part from an existing vocal. In addition to allowing programmable variation in pitch, timing and vibrato depth, for even more realism, DUO also includes a simplified version of THROAT's vocal modeling to provide timbral variation for the doubled part. DUO's output section gives you independent control of the level and stereo position of the original and doubled voices.
Use your own ears ! ;)

Man Hink, all I did here is a clone.
After you tried and compared both A/B, you can talk. :x :bang:

It does sound similar (when it works, because it crashes many hosts), I am not sure that it does sound exactly the same though. But, f**k, it took you less then one day while it took them two years and they are selling the whole bundle for a LOT...LOL...Antares SUCK.

Midiworks, how is your amp plugin going? soon to be released? :)

 tbh I think it a playground attitude to say "I can make something better in one day" BTW my AVOX bundled with Auto-tune 4 will be here Monday (I have the demo now)...so you know you're also quoting the MSRP of Antares...I got the bundle with both for 699...I deal with those with professional attitude, your response here speaks up louder about who is more professional, as does others I have read of yours.

I would rather do business with companies I know, that I have sold their products and that I have dealt with their customer service (with Antares it was on behalf of customers) in the past. Of course some new products are so awesome that they merit buying blind, most often they sell themselves anyhow.

I know Antares will be here next year for support...will you?...your defensiveness suggests you may not be. You're on the fence as a developer, I think many have a wait and see attitude with your pluggin...perhaps you should of listened to the advice given you to stick with one thing at a time.

I'm quite critical of how I spend my money...
all I did here is an Antares clone.
that just doesn't sit right with me...the first question is why? Why did you drop your project for a day to "show them up"? I don't want a clone, I can afford the real thing and I suspect a year down the road I'll be much happier...maybe you should stop comparing to Antares and stop trying to discredit their fine reputation and create a good one of your own. I think it wiser to make you own product with it's own merits...not clones.

I said before that I wished you luck with your project and I still do, that hasn't changed. As a KVR poster I have no problems with you and it isn't personal. But as a developer I don't like the signs I see...I dont want to be a few months down the road and say "damn it I should of bought xxx..."

FWIW over the years I have learned to always make promises I know I can keep and I ALWAYS under rate my projects when talking about them. When you boast to high about your upcoming products people expect more and even if it is very good, if they expected more it will be a disapointment. If you understate your products and it's very good, it's quite possible they expected an average product and very good is a pleasent surprise.

i think this isnt the same as duo.

with duo, i think it does things more RANDOMLY, for instance, random pitch variations, and random timing variations. also the vibrato in duo analyzes the actual vibrato and creates differing vibrato off of this.

what vst doubler does is applies a constant pitch difference and a constant timing difference, which can easily be done by just cloning a track and raising the pitch of one, and moving it over a couple of ms, then putting an amplitude modulation plugin over it, or automate the volume up and down, which is all "vst doubler" does. You would actually have much more control doing it the manual way.

All in all, this is a good tool, but not one of a kind certainly. It would be nice to find something that actually DID what antares AVOX said it did (which it doesnt at all) but this plugin isnt exactly it.

thanks midiworks tho, nice effort.

Post

for instance, if you had DUO, it would maybe move first word 7 ms ahead, and raise its pitch 33 cents, but the next word, it wouldnt affect. The one after that, it would push it back (can it even logically do this?) 5 ms, and raise its pitch 50 cents.

anyone getting me?
you just dont want to raise the whole doubled voices pitch by 33 cents and move it 12 ms in time, that still is cool, but random would be much better.

I don't see anything wrong with a bit of friendly competition or proving a point, but I can see how some people don't see eye-to-eye on how things are marketed or presented to the public. ;)

Midiworks, I am happy you did it dude. Contrary to the rich Hink, I cannot afford the Avox suite, but this cheap plugin might come in handy.

My first question is why is that your business Hink?! It is his project and his time, he can do whatever he wants! It seems to me that your only pissed because you actually paid 699$ for a useless suite that someone duplicated one of it's main components in under a day.

Way to go Midiworks, don't let the haters bother you man! :)

Hi Shamann,

no, neither Duo nor DuosX does sound like a Vocoder.

Hi Midiworks,

nice try. But unfortunately not well done. Your SynthEdit plugin doesn't even look goo, but hey that's just my taste. Is it still not possible with SynthEdit to compile all additional modules into one dll?
It sounds poor. It's buggy. It does not sound as good as Antares Duo and it doesn't even mimic all of it's functionality so how can it be an Antares clone?
Sorry man, but obviously it's you who didn't do his R&D. If you would have done so you would have recognized that Antares is using a completely different DSP technique than you. It's way more complicated than your delay gimmick. A little delay feedback is far from the vocal timbre in Antares Duo. It doesn't even remotely sound similar.
But you wanted me to compare it, so I did.
In the end your plugin is a chorus with a random LFO plus a short delay with a feedback knob which you call Vocal timbre.

Do you wanna know why I'm so upset? Because I hate it when people fake stuff and then have a big mouth full of wannabe marketing. Do you remember all the kids in the music shop playing smoke on the water? Ain't talking bout love? Everybody played it but only a few played it convincingly. That's my point.
YOU imply that your plugin is at least as good as Antares Duo if not better, it doesn't have this and that prob, etc. After comparing I found out that your plugin is a buggy alpha version of a wannabe Antares clone. Alpha means: All functionality is implemented. In your plugin is NOT all of the Antares functionality implemented, your vocal timbre knob is a joke. A beta version is feature complete bus is not fully tested. Your plugin is not fully tested as it's really buggy.

OK, that's it for now. And yes, I'm with Hink. I would be VERY surprised if your amp plugin will be as good as you would like it to be. Learn some DSP stuff. This would help in many ways.

Best wishes, FRitz

P.S. This is not personally against you. Please see this as constructive critizism. I simply don't like it to get taken for a ride.
In the end will be the word.
