My youngest pupil (6) had her first lesson on an electric today:

Isn't she cute? :harp:

I'm trying to talk her mum into buying her an electric, but my strat was a bit on the large side for her, and my Les Paul was way too heavy.. anyone know of any decent budget guitars with Les Paul scale lengths but lightweight bodies?

Yeah, daisyrock.

Also, Fender Mustangs and Musicmasters are short scale:

...so girls love'em.

Also, Fender/Squier makes a mini strat.

As long as he doesn't have a crush on Kelly Osbourne you're ok! :scared:

I can see it now:"Hey Li'l vurt-this is my Dad Ozzie!" "Here kid, have a bat to munch on!"

I have always preferred Gibson necks to Fender, becuase the slightly shorter scale length makes all the difference.

when my daughter was young (four or five) she use to call me "Daddy Ozzy" because a group of my friends called me Ozzy :hihi:
The highest form of knowledge is empathy, for it requires us to suspend our egos and live in another's world. It requires profound, purpose‐larger‐than‐the‐self kind of understanding.

Ah, poetry for the ages!

Good to see you've already taught her to correct 'shred' posture :hihi:

Excellent stuff!

As for small guitars, Musicman 3/4 gets my vote. Im not sure if they do a student model or not, but those guitars are excellent. If you're after uber budget, then Encore do something thats extremely cheat.

I've got small hands; stubby fat fingers.

Some bloke at a club once told me, 'my missus would love you...' :scared:

Oh yes, get a Stagg Mandolin instead. I'm having one.
