The soundtrack to the "Victory at Sea" series, one of the best documentaries -- possibly even the best TV shows -- ever made.

The original "Perry Mason" theme; it sounds exactly like inexorable justice ought to sound. The defense rests!

The "Route 66" theme (the piano and strings instrumental, not "Get Your Kicks").

The "Sanford and Son" theme; love that growly, squawking blues harp.

"You're Not the Boss of Me" -- not my favorite song, but it fits "Malcolm in the Middle" perfectly.

"I Love Lucy." Ba-ba-looooooooo! I dig Cuban rhythm.

I like the music for the original "Star Trek" theme, but the lyrics (never heard on TV, AFAIK) are abysmal.

If I enjoyed gospel music more, I'd say "Movin' On Up" from "The Jeffersons." Memorable and energetic.

#1 - The Rockford Files - Both Sanford and Son and Rockford files have extended versions even better than the shortend television versions. Awesome production and playing on both, they both sound as if they could have been recorded with the best of todays modern recording techniques.

I did once like the Simpsons, but I could live happily - happier - without ever hearing it again.
