Development on this effect VSt is going well and 90% finished, so I thought I'd give you all a sneak preview of what you're going to get..

Image

Its a step-sequenced waveshaper that allows you to create rhythmic changes in a way not possible with normal waveshapers.

It also features a number of other effects (filter, delay, gate, chorus, reverb) which offer many ways of messing with your sound and creating rhythmic effects synced to host tempo.

Unprocessed beat
Step sequenced wave-shaper for changes in tone
Lots of filtering, delaying and mangling

Unprocessed pad
Pad put through ShapeShifter

don't worry, I haven't forgotten about you!
I'm just doing some final testing on the patch loading/saving. If all's ok then I'll send you the beta in a couple of days or so. Then you can save anything good you come up with while you're playing around with it!

Nice. 8) I'll make some nice presets in categories of instruments. (I>E. "Drum Applications", Guitar Applications, bass applications..etc..etc..etc...).

peace!

Sounds like a good plan! :-)
It uses the same system of categorising presets that Soup uses, so you can have different categories within a bank.. so should work well!

I'll be in touch soon..!

Very interesting. Just what I'm looking for now. :)
However, the GUI is too busy. Will there be a choice of skins ?
I like the Shapeshifter logo though.
Cheers !

No there won't be a choice of skins, since it takes a long time to implement such a system and I think its better to have one decent GUI and concentrate on programming better/more features.

However, I think after using the plug for a while you'll appreciate having all the controls available to you at the same time. It saves you having to switch between menues and different screens so you can work really quickly.

Also, the all the sections are clearly grouped in the GUI so the controls are well organised and easy to find.

Its easy to use in practice, although that's hard to judge from a screenshot. Trying the demo when its out should reveal that's its an easy to use GUI.

Cheers,
Alex

The GUI is stunning! You've reached the 'decent' target.

Can't wait to try it! Although I was kinda hoping you'd be calling it 'Nutz'. But can't always get great sounds and bad puns all from one company. :)
perception: the stuff reality is made of.

I think it both looks and sounds cool. :)

If I can afford it, I will probably buy it.
But I am very poor right now, so I hope for a very low price. :hihi:
Cheers Bob
